Good food in a small town

This is a friendly cafe/restaurant well worth leaving the main road to find. Food was good and reasonably priced, service quick and friendly. No liquor licence, but try the hot, cinnamon spiced cider, a sweet treat before the food!

Small town Mom and Pop place with ultra friendly service. Packed with locals which is always a good sign Burgers, great breakfasts and lots of homemade goodies These places are so much better than the national chains. You can sit at the counter with the local liars club and drink coffee, read the local paper and learn the local gossip,... More

I had a mushroom burger. It was delicious but there were so many mushrooms it soaked up the bun and I could only eat half of it because it was too runny. My husband had a great ham sandwich. It was fun to go there.

Great food. Friendly and relaxed. Great potato salad too! Wanted an off the beaten path place to stop. Read previous reviews and were equally impressed by the food. Ice cream shakes were over the top.

I've had several dinner meals here while on a Elk hunting trip. The food was top notch. I especially enjoyed their awesome BLT, fantastic Vegetable Beef Noodle soup and surprisingly tasty home-made Mac Salad! Friendly staff and good service

I stayed one November night in Mitchell, and was pleasantly surprised to find this diner open at night. I heard from a local that the new people in charge were doing an excellent job and I should try it. I wasn't disappointed! The menu had a decent array of burgers, fries and the like. I had a cup of chili,... More

I stopped here with my Aunt while driving through Eastern Oregon. The owners were so welcoming and the food was all fresh. Burgers were from locally grown beef. It is diner food, but well done for being so isolated. I'm a picky urban foodie, and I felt this was a pleasant break from the bland fare I'd had at the... More

That said, the two ladies who were working there were quite loveable and friendly. We and our friends had two burgers, a ham sandwich, a chicken sandwich, ham & bean soup and two milkshakes. Our friends got sweet potato fries which they liked and the French fries I got were nice and crispy. All the meals were very tasty except... More

We were heading out early on our bike trip cross country and the Little Pine (Also a great place) wasn't open yet. We stopped at the Sidewalk Cafe and had a great breakfast. The service was quick and friendly, the food was really good, and the prices were reasonable. If your in Mitchell exploring the fossil beds stop here for... More

We are bicycling cross country through small town USA. Our meals have ranged from the excellent to the not so much. This diner has limited food selections but everything we had tasted very good. The downside to this diner: the service is slow and the prices are very high for the food they're serving (we're talking $10 for a hamburger... More
