We had stopped to grab a burger which the burgers are good from past experience. But this time my hands were dirty and i wanted to wash them. But i was rudely told that they did not have facilities for customers to use. I didn't even think that was legal if you served food.

For me, it's the foot long sausage coney. For my wife it's the foot long coney. Add a large order of fries and we're good. The "dining room" sucks, but that's not what Roakes is about. It's the food and the history.

We've always enjoyed the dogs and the service. Tonight was different. I still like the dogs and your fries are so good. Shoe string style and not greasy! Service was lacking. It wasn't bad,but we felt the service was curt. We have always dined at lunch and have had great service. One thing I would like to add, please bring Coca Cola... More

I've eaten at Roakes since the late 1960's. Always was a place to get a great coney island. I don't live in Portland any more, but happened to be in town so I thought I'd stop. Sadly disappointing. Ordered the classic foot long coney. No flavor to the dog or the sauce, which was pretty watered down. Staff acted like... More

We've been to this classic stand many times over the years. They have numerous options for hotdogs of all varieties. Quick and pleasant service.

Any trip to OR finds my looking to check out all of my favorite eating places. Nothing like a good Coney Foot Long and Fries from Roake's. Nothing ever changes there except the prices. That place has been there forever. Like to eat inside, the place is the size of a postage stamp. Love the burger, dogs and fries. Friendly... More

First found this gem a few years ago and now make sure to stop bye whenever I am in the area. Great food, good prices, friendly service and lots of rich history. Truly a must for any hot dog lover and those who just want a good all american meal.

My father in law has been hanging out at Roake's since 1952! the food has stood the test of time too! Check out the anecdotes about... More
