Perhaps it was because it a hectic holiday weekend. Perhaps it was because I arrived near closing time in the evening.Perhaps all the staff were tired from serving big family groups.I am not really sure.Service was slow and waitstaff seemed harried, food was ok but expensive for a "cafe".My experience did not jibe with the reviews I had read but perhaps... We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast - pancakes for the kids, a wonderful scramble and delicious seafood omelet. It wasn't super fast and they forgot toast went with my meal, but they got it to me quickly enough. Not cheap but not overly expensive either. I would recommend the Big Wave and will go there again if/when I return to Manzanita!

Had breakfast on a summer Wednesday. For all the people working there the service could have been a bit more attentive. I had two eggs and yummy sausage patty, with sourdough toast. Good but basic . The fried clams were fantastic and the potatoes very good. Kids had pancakes, bacon ( yummy) and eggs . Would come back again.

We came here for breakfast on a weekday. The restaurant was about half full, but after waiting to get coffee, waiting to place our orders, we ended up waiting more than half an hour for our food. The servers are nice, and I really liked the menu choices, and the breakfast was good once it finally arrived, but overall we... More

We ate here a few times while camping at the local state park...The food and service is great....I do think the prices are higher this year..We may have to find another restaurant next year...We had a traditional egg and bacon breakfast with tea and milk...It was 25.00 for two people

Fresh food served in a nice modern setting. Even had fresh flowers on the table at lunch time. The waitress was very helpful when we asked her about different roadways to drive back to Portland

If it had not been the good reviews on this site. I am pretty sure I would have never checked this place out. Had oysters on the half shell that were great and crab cakes were wonderful. Nice selection of local brews by the bottle and had a chance to talk brews with one of the owners.

So disappointed. Would have loved to given a 5 star review but I just can not! It took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive . It appears the wait staff seats guests, serves tables, and cleans tables. The food was good once it arrived.

This place really surprised us! We had so many "eh" eating experiences while visiting the area. This is a family friendly place, the staff was quick and attentive, the steam clams were the best we have had in a long time, the steamed crab was excellent. I wished we would of found this place sooner as we would of returned... More

We have a beach house in Manzanita & dine here monthly on our way back to Porltland. The food is really great - excellent fish & chips, but the wait on average is more than 30 minutes. If you're not in a hurry, you will enjoy a good meal!
