Good food, comfortable, warm atmosphere

I ate there Feb 21. 2015 while visiting the Oregon coast. My friend and I arrived there about 6pm and we had to wait a bit to get a table. The restaurant seemed to be family owned and operated. Our host was the owner and our server was the owner's son. They were both extremely friendly and attentive. I ordered... More

Pretty good! They open @ 8am & actually had their door open right before 8am. The place is cute & clean with a warm fireplace in the middle. Impressive. The server was very sweet & treated us well. My husband had the farmers omelette & loved it. I had raspberry French toast sharing it with my 4year old & it... More

We had a delicious dinner there. Very flavorful and well prepared meal. The owner was very welcoming and at dinner we had a great waitress. We returned the next day for breakfast. Food was still good but we had a lackluster waiter, which was disappointing.

My wife and I had lunch recently at the Big Wave Café. We both decided on the halibut sandwich. It was a very good decision. The sandwiches were wonderful, large pieces of perfectly cooked halibut. My wife has a pet peeve about french fries wanting them crisp and tasty, not soggy or greasy and these were perfect. Our server was... More

Not knowing anything about this place, and getting very hungry while driving around, we decided to stop and take a chance...and WOW! The heavens were shining down on our family with sweet cherubs pushing us in the door on Valentine's Day to Big Wave Cafe. The outside is very deceiving of what the inside looks like. The building from the... More

Cannot understand why some of the review of The Big Wave are less that excellent. We have eaten here numerous times and have always had a great meal with wonderful service. I just love their French fries. They are crispy and not greasy. Salads are always fresh and the burgers are tremendous in both size and flavor. We will always... More

every server at the "pass" breathes on it before it gets to you. I and others in my group have mentioned it several times, but they don't seem to care so we stopped going. Otherwise if you enjoy having strangers breathe on your food (can you say spread the flu/colds), it is very good. From the homemade hamburger patties to... More

We spent 2 days there and dined twice for lunch yesterday being our last day. Your servers did not prioritiize and were easily distracted and they were less than engaging to us newbies in town. They were carrying on with they're own personal conversations and your grand son was on using his iPhone on the job.while we were sitting at... More

We stopped here on Dec. 27th about 11:30 in the morning. That’s important because it looked like the only open restaurant in town and because the hostess asked us if we wanted breakfast or lunch. We said breakfast, which may have been our mistake. Cons: Eggs were cold for both of us. Small waffles were cold. I had ordered an... More
