Come for the pie, stay for the chat!

Great food, and great folks at Captain Dan's. Shop was quiet when we arrived, which was good as we had a chance to chat with Dan and his wife (?). Apple pie was tasty, as were the other pastries we tried. Small but quaintly decorated inside. Recommended!

When ever I went to my cabin at the coast my Parents would sometimes be there and they had stopped at Captain Dan's Pirate Pastry Shop. They told me that the husband and wife team make up small batches of pastry throughout the day. The pastry is out of this world. Come to find out the Owner, Capt. Dan and... More

I was very disappointed this weekend. I had called ahead and placed an order for 2 pies for a birthday. We were camping and had little reception but when I placed the order I said I would pick up after 2. I also asked how late you were open and was told 4. It was a suprise party and the... More

I had wanted to visit the shop since I saw the sign saying they had the best pastry. I totally agree! I had the Shipwreck turnover which was apple, caramel, cream cheese, and bacon. Yep. You taste all of those wonderful flavors in each bite plus the pastry is so delicate it melts in your mouth. It is a must... More

Captain Dan's is a small restaurant along the main drag. It has an interesting array of delicious breakfast items. We enjoyed it, kitsch and all.

My husband and I took our daughter here because she loves pirates. We thought we could have a cup of joe while she enjoyed Pirate Dan and the decor. The coffee was awful. I ordered a latte but did not watch them make it. I assumed it was made with a real espresso machine and that the milk would be... More

Thanks Captain Dan for making a great birthday cake for our mom. We called ahead and put it an order for us to take to our beach rental house. Themed and decorated perfectly. Magical!
