Fabulous Pie!

Enjoyed a marionberry pie from here for my birthday dessert. It was yummy! The crust was so much better than other bakeries' pie crusts. It looked homemade and was dusted with sugar. The berries were not too sweet or too sour.My kids, who are not really pie eaters, enjoyed and commented on this... read more

It's a rare treat to get my wife a pastry, since she is seriously gluten intolerant. This was a great find. I tasted her selections and they were excellent. This happened to be one of those occasions (rare I guess) when they had a gluten free pie. The crust was exceptionally good. They are also no slouch at wheat base... More

We missed seeing Dan but Kathy was here to serve us. We tried a few turnovers and cookies all were great our favorite was the "shipwreck", cream cheese, Carmel and bacon. I was a little hesitant but it was delicious. They are closed on Tuesdays so plan accordingly, on the main drag south end of Lincoln city.

The two best items I would recommend you try? Their turnovers are the best pastries I have ever had, sorry mom but its true. Blueberry, lemon, and the most mouth watering goes to huckleberry! Sweet, tart, flaky to perfection I highly suggest you try these heavenly desserts. The other is called pirate treasure cookies that have enough butter in them to sink... More

It's fun to take the kids here and they enjoy picking out a very creative cookie. Personally I check out the cake. I'm not usually a big fan of cake, but at this little shop they bake a few recipes that have come through family connections and they're a big hit with me. Divine carrot cake and a close second... Have gone to this place once or twice in the past, but each time before it was just me. I don't tend to notice the cleanliness of an establishment unless it is obviously lacking. However, my wife notices and she was bothered by how dusty everything was. We had a few different pastries and they were okay, but nothing special.... More

We picked up breakfast pastry's and were sadly disappointed. In all honesty, we both said it was the worst tasting bakery we have ever been to. Out of 3 turnovers, a coffee cake and cinnamon bun...they all tasted horrible. The turnovers fell apart right out of the bag extremely doughy tasting with very little filling and coffee cake was just... More

We originally walked to Captain Dan's from our beach rental at 6:30 AM. it was closed but we read the sign and it said they open at 9AM. OK, a bit late for a bakery I thought, but it's their decision. we went back to the condo and Peg made a scramble to hold us off. At 9AM we went... More

Great little bake shop. Fine selection of baked goods including some novel items. I had an apple-caramel-bacon turnover that was yummy. Also a great macaroon. Fill the gap between meals admirably.
