I have no issues with gluten and wasn't interested in this place but the wife has issues with gluten so I tagged along. Imagine my surprise upon trying my food. The volcanic rice with Chinese sausage and egg on top was unbelievable. It came with the really good piece of salmon but the rice definitely stole the show. My wife... More

After having 6 meals at Scratch, 3 lunches and 3 dinners, I can honestly say that it is at the top of our list of places to eat and take out of town visitors. We first learned about Scratch at a gluten free event. So, it is perfect for someone like myself with food issues. I can, for the first... More

Here we were, wondering around Lake Oswego, came to find Kyra's bakery to buy desserts for my Gluten intolerant friend and stumbled upon Scratch. (Thank you YELP!!) We didn't expect much and so were pretty laid back about everything. We arrived when they opened and were seated at a cozy table and preceded to scope out the place and menu.... More

This is a very special restaurant, located in Lake Oswego, OR. All meals are made from scratch, hence its name and are all gluten free. This is one of the best meals we there were four of us have eaten in the Portland area. Check it out.

I wanted to nibble, and what a place for it! I am a gluten-friendly person, but their gluten-free bread with its herbed butter was to die for, and those French breakfast radishes were perfect with it; the pate and onion confit were excellent, and nicoises olives in warm and fresh olive oil - mmm. To gild the lily, a local... More

From the moment we entered Scratch, we knew we were in for a fine dining experience. The friendly waitress/bartender/host greeted us warmly, explaining the menu in detail and helping us select a wine for our main dish. The trout was cooked to perfection in a cream sauce with nettles, arugula and roasted radicchio. The red snapper was beautifully presented and... More

What is it about Portland area restaurants?! SO inconsistent. We were somewhat regulars at Scratch. We tip well (25%), we're fun, we LOVE good food, we should have been treated well, right? I mean tips stands for to insure proper service. Nope. Not here. The sense of entitlement that permeates the Portland area service workers is palpable. Whatever. Let me... More

3 of us had fish; 1 had pork. We all enjoyed it. Presentation was wonderful. The 2 desserts were v. tasty. Even though none of us needed gluten-free, it was great to eat that way and have such a wonderful experience. With 4 entrees, 2 drinks, and 2 desserts, we paid $45/person which included the tip. I think that is... More

If you are gluten-free, whether by choice or medical necessity, then you already know how hard it is to find a compatible restaurant. Especially one where you can have the run of the menu. For that reason alone, we'd give Scratch a hearty five stars. But there's more to it than that -- the service was great, the staff was... More

Table of 4 and luckily 4 different entrees.....A+ on the Scallops, Pork Loin & Chicken. I had the Steak of the day, which was top sirloin.....delicious, but not the best cut of meat, kinda chewy. The waitress, Lauren, was great and managed to handle my "toasted" friend Aggie with grace and poise. The crudite and appetizer was very good, as... More
