Good coffee

Being local we stop in for breakfast from time to time. They have the best restaurant coffee in town (Boyds) and are usually pretty good at keeping it topped off. The breakfast is consistent for the usual ham-n-eggs, bacon-n-eggs. Lunch is pretty basic but passable. Depending on the cook, the... read more

Great place if you're a biker or trucker. Not my cup of tea, but if you like food that will keep your butt in the seat it's for you.

We stopped in for breakfast today. The food was very good & our server was awesome. I had the blintzes & they were great. The sausage & bacon were very good.

Group of 10 guys on a motorcycle tour stops in for dinner. On the plus side, they had a big table for us and the server was knowledgeable, attentive and nice. On the minus side: -The food wasn't very good. Even the BBQ sauce seems like it came out of a jar... and supposedly that's their staple. -The "salad bar"... More

We left Troy Mt. morning, and had to drop anchor in Le Grande. Didn' t want another burger. Smokehouse was suggested. Salmon plate,WOW! My tounge beat my forehead to death trying to get to it. Two weary vagabonds from Virginia.

This is a great American style cafe which is the best breakfast place in La Grande and it did not disappoint this time either. The prices are reasonable, service great and friendly - a true local cafe.

We stopped at the Smokehouse coming back from Spokane to Nampa for a late lunch earlier dinner because my husband wanted something different. We both remembered eating there years ago and remembered it as being okay. The atmosphere is country and the staff were very friendly and efficient. My husband said his BBQ ribs were very good while my New... More

We were traveling through Oregon on our way to Boise and points south and decided to have a mid-day lunch at a non-chain restaurant. I had a veggie omelette which was good but the whites were runny in spots. It was tasty, though. I chose pancakes as my side and they, too, were tasty. Other members of my party rated... More

The Smokehouse Cafe served the type of lunch we were looking for during a stop off the Interstate. We wanted a change from the chain type locations where we had been eating meals. The menu offered a nice variety of sandwiches, salads and dinners. We ordered a pulled pork and French dip sandwich. Both had good flavor and the portions... More

While the atmosphere was homey small town and the wait staff friendly, the food was not that great. I ordered Malibu chicken, which arrived over done stringy and extremely salty. The Swiss cheese was the white processed American slices you put on kid sandwiches. Terrible. My husband ordered the special chicken fried chicken which was also tough and stringy with... More
