This is a small venue which is a cross between an ice cream parlor and a small burger joint. I've never had the burgers, but the ice cream sure is good, and the staff is friendly. Take your kids. It's like entering a time capsule and going back 1950's middle America. Andy of Mayberry might just walk it any minute.

Delicious burgers, sweet potato puffs and homemade ice cream! Licorice ice cream is truly unique and delicious! The owner is a lovely, friendly woman, who, since we are from Texas, invited us to come back to try the Southwest burger and spicy chili. We are looking forward to it! This classic old place was well worth visiting. We really wish... More

This reminded me of my childhood, sitting at the counter watching the waitress make burgers and scoop ice cream cones and sundaes. Very quaint and generous servings. Voted best hamburgers in town. Good ice cream and a good time!

We were driving around La Grande and ran into this little shop. It had every flavor of quality ice cream imaginable. I had the huckleberry ice cream and it was a generous serving and very good. I also had a chicken tamale that was made by a local women and it was good. The owner and customers were very friendly... More

Good food and service. Will definitely return. We had burgers, three types of fries, and milk shakes. Really good

Very good and fairly quick burgers. Sit down inside or outside and enjoy yourself. Don't want a burger, come enjoy a old fashion blended milkshake!!

Burger was flavorless though charged .25 extra for seasoning??? Bun was soggy...gross!! Was told large fry feeds 2-3 people...not even as large as any other restaurant serves for 1...waste of money!!! Couldn't eat it...still hungry

An old fashioned ice cream parlor and burger place that looks like it was frozen in time from the 50's. Small place with limited seating - outdoor seats available in warm weather. If you like to support people who do things the old, slow way -- this is the place.

Loved this place, Ice cream is hand-dipped and out of this world and burgers are to die for. Hought's is the place to go. This little place is kind've hidden from the downtown but well worth the find.

Sixty years ago, when I was a small child, my grandfather would take me to get ice cream at Hought's 24 flavors. Mr. Hought, dressed in a white apron, would always greet guests with a friendly smile, and wait patiently as folks looked through all the flavors of ice cream available. My, my, what flavors he had. Even licorice flavor!... More
