Going to Vali's the first time is an education for it doesn't operate like any other restaurant I have ever been to. And I think I will leave it at that so you can enjoy the experience! We were there for Hungarian Pot Goulash which is more of a beef and vegetable soup with hot paprika. The entire meal consisted... More

Wonderful little Alpine restaurant...you might as well be sitting in Bavaria!! We had the ribeye on Saturday night and it was fabulous! Then went back on Sunday for the schnitzel...that was quite possibly the best meal I've eaten in months! Make sure to swing by Sat or Sun morning for homemade doughnuts, these guys are doing it right!!

Vali's has become a favorite stop when our family visits Wallowa Lake (for over 20 years). We just introduced another family to the experience this week. Look online and chose your menu item by the day you visit, or call. The common menu item keep the meal affordable and great, we have never been disappointed here. Maggie's feisty personality assures... More

This restaurant was highly recommended on TripAdvisor and it is definitely worth making a reservation. We got into Joseph on Friday and wanted to go some place special to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We called that night and were able to get a reservation for Sunday, our anniversary. This is a delightful little restaurant run by family and the service... More

Special reservation needed for dinners. Limited menu-one special evening meal for each day of the week Hungarian meal was outstanding. The service was with an attitude-waitress made me feel like I was in my youth with my favorite grandmother telling me to eat all my food. It was fun and our dinner party had a terrific time. Plan on returning... More

My wife and I recently visited this charming restaurant while on vacation. We began with fresh baked goods prepared on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Arrive early as these are first come, first served. The scone was among the best I've ever tasted, and came with a rhubarb-blueberry jam. Dinners are one main course per night, with reservations necessary. We enjoyed... More

Vali's is unique. It offers only one entrée per night -- a different one each night. The restaurant has seasonal openings. It is closed much of the winter and only open weekends until Memorial Day. Then it is open 6 days a week. We were lucky to be there on a Saturday night and were served a delicious rib eye... More

Friends treated us to this unique Bavarian type place for a royal multi-course meal. Everything was scrumptious. Can't wait to return for another one of these evening experiences.

Vali's is not your typical spot to pop into for a bite to eat. First, you must have a reservation. Each night of the week there is a different main course offered, in fact the only entrée offered for the evening. The result is a meticulous presentation of culinary excellence. Maggie Vali plays host and server for the evening. Your... More
