old school fun

This bar is great, totally old school. We like it because it reminds us of our family's bar at home. It's not uncommon that there be only a handful of people one night, next night packed.

After reading the good reviews, and realizing this was just around the corner, we decided to try J'Ville Tavern for lunch. Although it was open and it was 12:30, no one but a bartender was there. I asked about lunch and he said they don't serve it. I gave it only two stars but I really can't judge the food.... More

We had an excellent meal and great coffee followed by Creme Brulee but we had to wait for that. We received excellent service and over-stayed the normal time but were treated hospitably and enjoyed every minute for which I was grateful because I was trying to visit with an old friend I hadn't seen in awhile.

I never go to taverns, but the food options looked interesting, and they were - quite nice! The staff is very kind: instead of insisting on customers-only, I saw them let a poor exhausted tourist use the restroom. That's class.

J'ville Tavern located in Jacksonville Oregon is a great place to duck in and have a cold beer when visiting historic Jacksonville. This is not a fancy expensive bar. Very blue collar. Also considered to be a lucky place to buy a lottery ticket.

This is a great bar. I understand that it used to be on the corner but has moved 2 doors down. It is a great bar in a historic neighborhood. Friendly staff and good selection of beer.

It's a little touristy, but fun to see. Have a drink and go elsewhere for the food like the Jacksonville Inn or the Mustard Seed for breakfast and lunch.

I was driving home on a road trip and someone said I should go a little off the beaten path through Jacksonville. I wasn't sure if I was going to stay there or in Ashland that night, but after I stopped in Jacksonville I walked around the town and stopped into the J'Ville to ask, and have a bloody mary... More

So many times you go into a local bar and have to choose between okay beer choices. But J'Ville tavern has it all...domestics and micro brews. Gotta love it:)
