We were looking for good food and views of all the activity on the river and found Soltice to be the perfect combination. The food was excellent ( we had a Caesar salad, the pear salad and then the pear pizza) and so was the service. We will definitely go back!

This is a great restaurant. Down on the riverfront with a great view of the Washington hillside and great "people watching". The brick oven pizza cooked with apple wood is good. We were there when they received a delivery of Apple wood in the parking lot. I guess it doesn't get any more real than that. Our wait staff was... More

We started very early on Sunday morning and hit eight water falls in the gorge. After a total of twelve miles hiked in the gorge we drove to Hood River and put our name on the list. After a quick swim in the Columbia RIver our phone got a text saying our table was ready. We were a party of... More

We have been loyal fans of Solstice Wood Fire Cafe since their early days in Bingen, WA. We have always appreciated their focus on fresh, yummy, local foods. We happily make the trip over the bridge to the new location. The staff is helpful and friendly.

The standard pizza combinations are very unusual. They were out of mushrooms so tried the pear pizza which was surprisingly great! . Margherita pizza has tomatoes but no sauce. Make your own combo pizzas get expensive quickly but they are very generous with toppings. Great all local wine selection by the glass, carafe or bottle. Wide selection of beers. Can't... More

We stopped on our way to Portland and found ourselves at Solstice. We sat outside, ate some awesome pizza that I cannot even begin to describe. One had cherries/sausage/mozzarella and then a pepperoni pizza for our non-experimenting child. We shared the Smores Desert and it was mouth watering, hot out of the wood fire oven, delicious. The waiters and waitresses... More

Loved that we were able to bike from the Best Western Hood River. We stopped in without a reservation and was seated immediately and was able to watch a beautiful sunset. Had a beer on tap and specialty drink (wife had the limoncello drop, and would have had more if we weren't driving bikes! Also order a few apps (Siragusa... More

I was a regular at Solstice before it moved across the river from Washington to Oregon, where the owners can take advantage of the tourist trade and a more affluent clientele. We Washingtonians were very sad to lose our favorite restaurant to "the beautiful people," and I stubbornly refused to contribute to the Kickstarter campaign that made the exit possible.... More

Despite reading the reviews on service, my husband and I tried the Solstice. My pear salad was great but then we waited forever for the next dish. We had another appointment and asked about the dish and a server (we had three different ones) stated that there had been a mix up with the kitchen and it had gone to... More

We have recently visited Solstice twice in the past month. We have taken guests. The ambiance is wonderful. Upbeat, urban feel with the gorge in front of you. The first night we had the blueberry, arugula, fresh mozzarella pizza. AMAZING. That should be a regular during the blueberry season. Our second meal was as equally delicious. Both times we visited... More
