The sushi from Kaze has an excellent reputation. Unfortunately the first time it was like being on a reality show to get to the place, because of some kind of event in the town. Since then, we've tried to go back several times, but the place is never open! There's always a sign on the door. Very frustrating. I'm not... More

The past twenty years have witnessed an explosion of Sushi spots, but most fail to maintain quality (sushi by design must he fresh - recently caught). Having experienced real quality in Japan I can readily say Kaze was a terrific surprise! Perfect presentation, sushi rice was just right, and the staff were the best. If you don't have the time... Nice take on well-made Japanese staples with a slight Hawaiian accent and good cooking care. Very inexpensive and friendly. Popular for good reasons and can be a bit slow, but worth it. Bring an appetite. Portions are as generous as prices are reasonable.

Our family had a lovely dinner at Kaze during our recent visit. We lived in Japan several years ago and were delighted by the quality / authenticity of the dishes. The quantity was still "American size" and so there was more than we should have eaten ... But we could not help ourselves. service was delightful.

If you are in Hood River or passing through, you must stop by this restaurant for some very great sushi. I've actually been here a hand full of times over past 5 years but was there the other day and I thought I should write something. ATMOSPHERE The space although a bit smaller has a warm and welcoming feel. You... More

My husband and I went to Kaze during a vacation in Hood River. Kaze had been recommended to us by two different hotel staff members. They said it is the best Japanese in Hood River. We went to dinner on a week night and found the sushi incredibly fresh and well prepared. The menu has a huge selection. The staff... More

Great food, great view, take your time and enjoy. Kaze can be very popular especially during the summer tourist season so you may have to wait for a table. The sushi will be worth the wait, super yummy. The owner is Japanese from Japan and this is his second restaurant so he knows what he is doing.

My aunt and uncle live in White Salmon and they introduced me to Kaze. It is one of their favorite local restaurants. We are of Japanese descent so we've had our fare share of sushi and the like. Kaze is first rate, reasonably priced, and not to be missed if you are in the area. I was just in White... More

We were referred here by our hotel (Best Western) and they were correct in saying the fish was very fresh and very well presented. They were indeed correct! We sat at the bar and asked the chef/owner to select our meal, chefs choice, a great way to eat and get to know the restaurant and usually eat a dish or... More
