Great food Service questionable

Stayed next door and came over. First evening sat on deck and enjoyed the beautiful weather and view. Service was a bit slow and sketchy. Expected a bit more attentiveness from such a fine place. The food was excellent as was the ambiance. We decided to try breakfast on our last day. Again, the... read more

We were traveling through the area, made reservation for breakfast on a Saturday. Our table was by the window, which gave us a great view to the Columbia River. We ordered and shared the following: blueberry scone with butter and honey; the Temple’s Toast: Three pieces of custard soaked Pullman toast topped with powdered sugar (got bacon as side choice,... Our first night's waiter was the poorest we've experienced in a hight end hotel. But the food was good. So on the second night, we ate outdoors, while ordering from the dinner menu. That was excellent. Valentino's bar gave great service.

We went here for Breakfast Saturday morning. good food basic fare but decent price considering the area. The view and history are amazing. We went back Sunday morning a little after 9am. We missed the cutoff for the regular breakfast but we were invited to have brunch, a plated brunch at 27.00 a head, you could buy the 6th course... More

We stopped for one night in Hood River on our way to Newport and decided to enjoy the well rated cuisine at Simon's. We were not disappointed! I had the pork shank with mashed potatoes and my husband enjoyed the smoked duck with cherry sauce. Both entrees were wonderful! They came with our choice of salad; I had the Caesar... More

This restaurant is pricey but food, ambiance and service was worth it. I had the steelhead and strawberry cobbler pretty much every dinner. Breakfast was awesome. Yummy bloody Mary's.

I took a friend to lunch. The food and service were pretty good. After I paid the check with large tip we never saw the waitress again. The grounds and views are so old world we enjoyed ourselves. The decor is a little tired and jaded.

Had the most wonderful mid afternoon lunch on the veranda. The view was spectacular, the service was very friendly, and the food was excellent. Even though it was a limited off-hour menu, we really enjoyed our selections. Try the baked cheese -- words cannot do it justice.

Great staff. Meals were enjoyable. Cost is average for a moderate-luxury hotel. May not be child-friendly dinners. Breakfasts were our favorite meals there.

Love the hotel but the restaurant is very bad. Ordered ginger ale but got tonic/Pepsi. Sheep cheese with cherries was liquified with the cheese rind floating In the bowl. My wife's dinner came during the appetizers. She had a berry salad with homemade ranch dressing but the dressing tasted like mayo. My meal came,FOLLOWED by the bread. The halibut was... More
