I stopped in to ask about hanging a poster in their window regarding a benefit concert at a local high school. I could hear the manager in the back tell his employee to tell me he was "busy" after she told him what it was regarding. It was their slow time - very few customers - and he was not... More

Hales has been around as long as I can remember. One of my favorite menu items is the Spartan Sandwich. Delicious ham turkey and cheese on grilled bread then smothered in Spartan sauce.(alfredo) It is so delicious. The Ruebens are good too. Omelets are huge and splitable. I don't care for the restaurant area, the bar is much more comfortable... More

First time ever trying food from this place and was beyond unsatisfied. We got 2 omelets with French Toast, hash browns and sausage links; while we got A LOT (enough to split between our 4 young kids, my husband and myself) the quality made it not worth the price at all. The sausage tasted like the frozen boxed kind you... More

Hales offers a lovely setting and generous portions of well cooked food at a reasonable price. The salmon was perfectly seasoned and cooked to be tender, moist and delicious and our friends loved their very generous sandwiches. The house made potato chips are crisp, very lightly salted and a world away from the packaged ones usually served at most places,... More

Good restaurant for a Sunday breakfast. Good service and good food. The omelettes are huge and stuffed full of goodies. Bring your appetite if you order one of those. Menu has a good variety of dishes, not too many, just the right amount.

I've been going to Hales for over 40 years, but no more. I was with another person who has a painful back condition. The bar area was quiet and not busy, and she rested her feet on the vacant chair next to her to get the pressure off her back. The owner? manager? noticed her and from a distance told... More

Don't order the fish if you go here. Better yet, don't go! I sent back my salmon dish that WAY past it's prime and the server (in the bar 12-16-12 evening)yelled at me from the kitchen door "that's our salmon, there's nothing wrong with it!" attracting the attention of all the other diners in the bar. All 3 people at... More

We have been eating at Hale's in Hillsboro for the last 10 years. This family operated restaurant originated in Beaverton as Hale's Fish & Chips on Canyon where Tom's now operates. I can remember eating there often as a child 50+ years ago because the fish was so good. These days we go for the breakfasts which are the best... More
