I visited in Syun restaurant a few times during the last few months. Very good quality sushi! Excellent choice of sake. Very authentic place!

While on a house hunting trip in Hillsboro, we came across this little restaurant. From the outside it does not look like much, but we were hungry and there so we went in. We are glad we did!. While the place is indeed small, it was amazing. We ordered miso and rolls. All were lovely and tasty. We chatted with... More

This restaurant is incredible, since returning from living in Japan, I have scoured the Northwest for an authentic Japanese dining experience, and have been sorely disappointed until I had arrived here by chance at this cozy little place in Hillsboro. I was so impressed with whole dining experience that is Syun Izakaya, that I actually returned for lunch and dinner... More

If you are on the prowl for a terrific Japanese restaurant that happens to have unbelievably fresh sushi and much more, this is your answer. I have only had lunch at this restaurant and came away knowing I would dream about it that night with a smile on my face.

Juts an OK Sushi and a bit overpriced - in a very nice setting. Welcoming atmosphere and good service - large menu - but the Sushi was not inspiring.

Had wonderful lunch here today (June 11, 2013). Nice low-key isakaya atmosphere. Some beautiful wooden tables. Nice pictures of Hillsboro as it was a century or so ago. Efficient and friendly service. Good food value. We had the lunch special and sushi lunch. Both included very good tempura (oil and batter very light and fresh). Sushi in nice bite-size chunks... Although we ate there several years ago we found the menu very unique. The sushi bar had the normal items, but the entrees were different. I had what was called a Princess Bowl, if I recall correctly, and it was unlike anything I had eaten before. Delicious.

This place offers the best sushi I have ever tried. The seafoods are imported fresh from Japan daily. If you go there for lunch, they offer lunch menu which is not expensive at all. The lunch includes a miso soup and a bow of green salad. The salad dressing is amazing. If you go there for dinner, it's a little... More
