We stopped here on an early afternoon for a late lunch. It was during the week and not very busy. We felt like we weren't supost to be here. The staff wasn't very friendly and the food wasn't anything special. Do not try to order something that is not exactly stated on the menu. It seems to be impossible to... More

My husband and I went there for dinner and had an awful dinner, the owner guy was rude and grouchy looking, next day took family of nine to breakfast and had a wonderful meal and the waiter was excellent everything was great. after the first night I didn't even want to go back but glad we did because we got... Came here especially for a slice of Huckleberry pie with ice cream. It was absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere in the cafe is typical American dinner. Quaint and extremly comfortable. They do a full menus all day every day and the staff are very friendly. If you are near government camp visiting Mount Hood then drop in, your love it.

My brother (of 63 years) and I were taking a nostalgic day trip (loop) into the High Lakes District (north of Mt. Jefferson) via the old Skyline Road, and decided to make a early morning breakfast stop in Government Camp. We used to camp and fish with our parents all over the area; and with a 1952 Willy's Overland there... More

We ate dinner there. I had a large salad and wife had a burger. Large chunk of broccoli was hard to cut up. Carrots had a slight onion and/or radish flavor. Ground beef wasn't to be coveted. Tomatoes were not very good. We didn't clean our plates. The ice cream was pretty good, though.

The service at the huckleberry is just about the most pathetic excuse for customer service that I have ever had the misfortune of experiencing. We end up getting dragged in there once or twice a year by friends and are always amazed at the fact that it shows no sign of improving what so ever. We have been there on... More

Never Again Went there the weekend after Labor Day. No crowds. A lot of elderly people sitting in booths looking bewildered. The waitress says seat yourself and points to a booth. We sit. No forks, knives, spoons or napkins. Tosses 2 menus on the table and walks away. Look at the average items on the menu with above average prices.... More

We stopped in for lunch one day and the food was very good. The BLT was a good sized sandwich and so were the chicken strips ... and they were reasonably priced.

Get the pastries and pancakes-huckleberry of course. Neat architecture and healthy size servings. A nice mountain style pancake experience and very easy access in Government camp.
