Go-to Place in Gold Beach

Great food, great atmosphere and nice folks! Oh, and good, ol' cold beer! One of our favorite places to eat at the beach.

My favorite and often not done well, I try it whenever possible. These were lightly breaded calamari 'strips ' and done just right. I prefer the smaller bite size tentacles and mantles but they can often end up rubbery. So to have tender strips was great! My husband had a French dip, son had a burger. They were average in... I regularly road trip up 101 and this is one of my favorite stops. The food is awesome and some of the freshest you'll find. Also, the desserts are amazing too. The blackberry crumble is top notch. As for the food, the specials are always killer and just about anything seafood related is a winner. My wife is all about... More

We had to wait pretty long to get our food, and then the food was a bit of a let down. Maybe we just didn't get the right thing.

I have been to the porthole cafe many times now. The staff is always pleasant and inviting. The atmosphere is great, nice views, and the food is always good. I have been here many times and will continue to come back!

We wandered into this place randomly and were pleasantly surprised. Our server, Suzy, was friendly and attentive. We love local seafood, and Port Hole Cafe delivered with clam chowder, Washington steamers, Pacific cod, and local razor clams. We enjoyed everything, including the waterfront view from our table! Prices were reasonable.

Loved the fish & chips, the Shrimp Louie salad was great. Portions are very good. Atmosphere is great, relaxing & low key. Would be my go to restaurant if I lived there. Can't wait to go back looking forward to it.

We love these non chain places Here they were nice but almost every request to substitute was at full price for the substituted item. Underdone baked potato, chowder with little clam and semi raw potato. Razor clams were good View of the sea wall but not the sea On balance a decent place

Stopped for lunch and ordered steamers for appetizer which were great! Had the razor clams which were not... you get 3X and were mostly breading. It comes with potatoes and steamed vegetables on the side and also a cup of soup. For $1.50 more you can have the clam chowder which was their saving grace ... can't remember having any... More
