Great Place for Lunch

They were able to handle a large group on short notice. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and fast. They had no trouble handling our large order and the food came out as ordered; hot, fresh, and delicious. Try the hand breaded chicken sandwich.

Very busy little place. Staff were ok- not very quick for service but pleasant enough. Food was simple- nothing to write home about but decent. Tuna salad sandwich was good- oily bread but tasty. Pie was delicious. Clam chowder was good too. Would go back but only as there is not much else in the town- and it wasn't bad.

We waited 15 minutes to be seated. After we were seated and looked at the menu...it was adequate for a cafe...we looked up at the beer and wine list and were appalled to find only gallo selections and decided to leave.

Picked up a couple of fish sandwiches as we rolled into town after 8pm. We were traveling with a small dog and couldn't eat at the restaurant. To be fair, this probably contributed to soggy bread on the chipotle fish and the odd presentation on the tuna melt (hidden under a mound of stone cold fries), but doesn't excuse the... More

I was hoping for good seafood. It was okay. Mostly fried selections. What made the meal was the homemade blackberry crumble. They have excellent desserts!

I have lived in Oregon for 2 1/2 years. I have always stopped at The Porthole for lunch or dinner while exploring. The food has never been great but it has been a familiar place I have enjoyed. Stopped in this past Saturday around 4 pm and was rudely treated by hostess whose name I believe is Donna. (She may... More

I had fish and chips all along the Oregon coast during the five days our family spent there. All but the ones at the Port Hole Cafe were beer battered. They were all very good but I really liked the panko fried chips at the Port Hole better than any. I had halibut and it was very fresh. The wait... More

Ate at the Port Hole while on vacation in July. Service was good. Food was less then spectacular. One of those meals you left from wishing you've saved the $75 (two adults, three kids) and just picked up a sandwich to eat in the room.
