The restaurant with its unusual menu is an unexpected gem in Florence. We seemed to hit a bad night for service. Food was mostly tasty, but service really disappointed, save the young man who kept our water glasses filled. We moved our eaten-appetizer dishes to the bar, and they were still there when we left after the main course. Please... More

We called The Waterfront Depot at 3 PM for a reservation tonight. 1st available time would be 9 PM. No thanks. A little after 6 PM, we walked into Spice (across the street) which I think is related to the Depot and had a wonderful meal. Service was excellent; prices fair and a comfortable LITTLE spot. She had crab cakes... More

We went to Spice tonight on the spur of a moment…and mind you, we live here in beautiful Florence. We typically go to her sister restaurant, which was maxed out when we arrived so we crossed the street to Spice. So glad we did. Excellent bartender served us an excellent Dirty Martini, and we then proceed to eat an excellent... More

Coming from Seattle, I've tried many different Asian and Asian fusion restaurants. Here at Spice, I had the clams and mussels in a coconut milk curry. The flavors blended so well with about a two star spice rating (they don't ask for stars). Ginger, garlic, onions, lemongrass, bay leaves - it was a delicious mixture of Thai/Vietnamese flavors. I liked... More

Called for quick bite to eat and ended up staying two hours, mmm maybe three. Caught up with some local old boys Lou n Keith, say hi if you see them. This place us good value, fish taco. Yum! Good wine choice as well. I definitely left there with wobbly legs. Great waitress, french girl, forgot the name, sorry if... More

This little restaurant is the closest thing to "foodie" heaven we've found along this stretch of the Oregon Coast, and when we first visited Florence perhaps 20 years ago, there was nothing remotely like it in Old Town. Simply prepared seafood with international (mainly but not exclusively Asian) flourishes is the star here. I enjoyed the "Shellfish Madness" special. It... More

The Waterfront Depot was at capacity so the receptionist gave us a 10% coupon to use at their other restaurant Spice across the street. We decided to try it and we were thrilled with the result! The service was friendly but professional and timely, and the atmosphere peaceful and quite upscale feeling, a surprise in such a small town on... More

Small place, and very enjoyable. Tried new foods and enjoyed the variety. I would definitely return!

While having a different menu, the quality of Spice's ingredients and preparation ranks right up with its sister restaurant Waterfront Depot, which is across the street. All four in our group had a different selection of seafood and everyone was very pleased with their choice. No cocktail or tartar sauce here. The entrees include different but very tasty sauces. We... More

Bravo! Everything is obviously made from scratch here, with superb ingredients, terrific skill, great invention, and a great gift for tastiness. Amazing seafood and vegetarian options. Even their happy hour menu is fantastic! This is one of the new restaurants that recently opened across from the incomparable Waterfront Depot in old town Florence -- a place so good it's impossible... More
