Read the reviews about the award winning chowder from here. Stopped on a Friday for an early lunch. It wasn't crowded at all. (which made me wonder what we were in for...) Oh Lord, that chowder....if I could have, I would have licked the bowl and asked for more. I think this is my favorite chowder all along the Oregon... More

Great food ! They stayed open despite our showing up near closing the first time we went there. Karaoke one evening, that was loud but entertaining.

Food here was better than average but not as good as expected it to be. Prices were average for this type of dining ($10 for burgers to approx $20-25 for other entrees) . Service was OK but not exceptional. Decor very pleasant. Atmosphere could be nicer if lighting was different. Overall, I Would dine here again..It has potential and like... More

Looking at all of the fire department memorabilia will keep you entertained while you wait for your meal. The clam chowder was very, very good.

We dined in the late afternoon here, it wasn't crowded. My husband and I both ordered crab Louie salads. Generous portions, perfect ingredients. Our server at first brought us shrimp on the salads, instead of the requested crab. She offered to bring us crab in addition to the shrimp, instead of swapping it out. We did that and enjoyed the... Having visited this restaurant again after a gap of a couple of years we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of the food. The quality of the ingredients and their cooking was noticeable and we thoroughly enjoyed some of the most reasonably priced food to be found in Florence. Based on our experience we would recommend The Firehouse... More

Good points were sitting along the sunny sidewalk with a view of the bridge & Siuslaw river & a very friendly server. BUT - "deluxe award winning chowder" was not good - overly rich, drown in two kinds of cheese & served with soggy toast - uh!! The chowder @ Bridgewater is 1000% better -- sadly we were looking for... More

We were advised to eat here by our hotel receptionist. When we arrived the inside smelled of smoke. Our waitress really had no interest in caring for our table of 8 and did not bring the crayons she promised and other items such as water took a while to get. When I saw her walk by I turned into her... More

Usually a nearly-empty restaurant makes me leery, but I trusted the advertising and hoped for the best. We had lunch on a Friday at The Firehouse, a little early. While waiting for the order, I found patches from two cities in Utah, and I trust my firefighters. The clam chowder truly lives up to the billing. It is award winning.... More
