Yi Shen restaurant, on West Eleventh avenue near Garfield, offers excellent Viet Namese home-style cooking. I particularly like the Thai eggplant cooked with garlic and served with white or brown rice. Their soups are also remarkable. The portions are generous. Yi Shen also has a small but well-stocked Asian grocery store featuring mostly foods and condiments from Viet Nam. Service... More

After a less than inspired meal at a nearby Pho restaurant my quest for Eugene Pho took me to Pho Yi Shen. Thankfully Pho I was served was better prepared and was a flavorful, not to mention piping hot. I'm not sure if I have found my replacement for the Portland area Pho I enjoy so much, but I plan... My husband's favorite restaurant for beef pho. The veggie pho is good, too - ask for fried tofu and eggplant to be added!

Adress is now on West 11th. Nicer atmosphere but still feels like a diner. Owners very friendly and helpful. You order at a counter and they bring the food to your table. Pho is great. I like their duck but lots of people like the pork. You can shop for Asian groceries or kitchen supplies while you wait.

There's a reason Pho Yi Shen is popular at lunch and dinner. The menu selections are always interesting, well-prepared, fresh and authentic. The portions are reasonable and the prices modest. We love Pho Yi Shen and the store Yi Shen as well. The owners are the nicest people, too.

The friendly owners will help guide you to everything you need to create the perfect Asian meal. The counter service restaurant prepares excellent dishes which you can enjoy at one of the many tables.

Hidden gem, great pho, and excellent udon for about $7-8/bowl. Place is not fancy, but clean and neat, and friendly owners run a little asian market stuffed chock full of treats--stock up on your lychee jellies. We even found mochi ice cream for dessert.

If you like your pork tender and juicy with the skin perfectly crispy you need to come here. Their crispy pork meal is to die for. It is served with a brown-white rice combo, steamed bok choi, and a heap of the delicious pork. Their pho is not too shabby either, but the crispy pork can not be missed.

Pho Yi Shen is an unpretentious family-run neighborhood restaurant and grocery store. Their pho with shredded chicken has the most flavorful, light broth, with lots of chicken and freshly made noodles and a generous garnish bowl of cilantro, hot pepper, bean sprout, and lime. You can get a main dish and drink (Soda or basil seed drink or something else)... More
