Just back from Eugene visiting UO and son -- old favorite Zenon Cafe is now closed so we went up the street to Sweet Basil. Absolutely delicious - what a surprise, wish we had a place like it in L.A. Food inventive and well presented. Also loved the Oregon ale (can't remember name) that was recommended. Crispy duck and garlic... more

Sweet Basil is definitely not your typical storefront Thai restaurant. It is beautifully decorated in a very contemporary design. As to the food, I think it really depends on what you order. We had a house special curry which was very good and a crispy duck that was just average. It definitely wasn't crispy. It probably sat around too long... more
