Description: Marche, located in Eugene, Oregon, opened in August 1998. The restaurant, which seats 80 guests, has an exhibition kitchen featuring a beautiful wood-fired oven. There is also a stylish bar and a large outdoor dining area, covered with awnings and umbrellas and surrounded by a garden of herbs and edible flowers. Marche takes its name from the French word for market – a word that describes our location in the bustling 5th street Market and more importantly, our philosophy of cooking. The menu is based on the foods one would find at a farmer’s market: fresh, seasonal, and regional. Marche is committed to using only those ingredients that are at their best, so our menu evolves as we move through the seasons of the year. Marche also believes in using the highest quality and most healthful ingredients available and to that end use organic, free range, and chemical free products. The culinary technique is French-based: intensely flavored and simply but beautifully presented.

We visit Eugene a few times per year to visit our son who is in his second year at the University of Oregon. GO DUCKS! Whenever we visit Eugene, we make it a point to try new places to eat and take our son out who has been eating “dorm food” to a nice dinner. He really enjoys the time... More

The breakfast here is great. It is quite French and it reminded me of many breakfasts I have had in France. Get the baguette toast. You really can't go wrong. The coffee was strong and delicious. Very good service as well. I can't wait to have breakfast here again and will definitely try dinner here next time I am in town.

When we come to Eugene, we must have dinner or lunch at Marche, we are never disappointed. Having travelled in France and Europe, this gives a feeling of being at a nice little French restaurant. The food is so well presented and delicious, the wine list is extensive, desserts are a great way to finish a meal. Service is top... More

The title sums it up pretty well. We did not see any sign of snobbish or pretentious service. Everyone was very pleasant once we got to the place. The major problem came when we tried to add two people to a 5 party reservation for dinner at 5:30. After several phone calls we were told that it would be impossible... More

I always enjoy going to Marche. The service and atmosphere have gotten a bit more relaxed in the last few years making it more attractive to a more diverse clientele. It is still a great choice for a celebration or to dress up for an occasion, but you also will be comfortable in jeans! The menu is limited but varied... More

Marche used to be better. Now the menu is heavily meat and full of trendy, & esoteric spices. Very unusual food if you enjoy that. The food is fresh and mostly local, so that is a plus. The wait staff is enthusiastic, if not a bit load at times. They provide seasonal foods, which I appreciate, but just not enough... More

We were staying at the Inn at the Fifth for the Oregon Stanford game. Had lunch, breakfast and dinner here over two days. Staff was helpful and knowledgeable. The soups are different every day and outstanding. Can't go wrong here.

This was our favorite restaurant with such an ambiance and friendly service. The open kitchen and professional, friendly service was out go too, when ever we could. It is still excellent, however, it seems as if the Chef of the moment and some of the serving sizes change. No, this is not the place to go if you want an... More

A very nice venue that combines excellent food, service, and "snob" appeal.Perfect for the high school prom or business dinner. Unfortunately overpriced.

We have dined at Marche several times. The food has always been superb with excellent service. They try to source locally both food and some of their wines.I believe this is the only restaurant in Eugene with a sommelier and he is fantastic. With this quality of food and wine you should expect the price to be higher than most,... More
