Description: Marche, located in Eugene, Oregon, opened in August 1998. The restaurant, which seats 80 guests, has an exhibition kitchen featuring a beautiful wood-fired oven. There is also a stylish bar and a large outdoor dining area, covered with awnings and umbrellas and surrounded by a garden of herbs and edible flowers. Marche takes its name from the French word for market – a word that describes our location in the bustling 5th street Market and more importantly, our philosophy of cooking. The menu is based on the foods one would find at a farmer’s market: fresh, seasonal, and regional. Marche is committed to using only those ingredients that are at their best, so our menu evolves as we move through the seasons of the year. Marche also believes in using the highest quality and most healthful ingredients available and to that end use organic, free range, and chemical free products. The culinary technique is French-based: intensely flavored and simply but beautifully presented.

We went to Marche twice during our visit to Eugene. Both times we had the cornmeal fried oysters and both times they were prepared to perfection! The very best ever! The service was amazing, tasters of wine and suggestions were spot on. I live in Charleston SC a food paradise and have yet to taste a fries oyster so well... More

The venerable Marche may not always be the most creative or sexy restaurant in Eugene, but it is usually the most consistent in providing well-prepared meals with fresh and local ingredients. The menu changes seasonally, but that might not be frequent enough for those looking for new and exciting combinations. The staff is well-trained and friendly. The wine list is... More

Dined here recently on a busy Friday night - great location in downtown Eugene, a bit difficult to find as our Uber driver dropped us on the street where the address is but it was easier to find from the other side of the block. We had to walk around a bit in the complex before finding it. Not a... More

Ate there for both breakfast and dinner -- and both were simply terrific. Breakfast was a big hit with both traditional items and a few local dishes (salmon hash, etc.). I had the Bison steak for dinner and it was delicious - very concentrated beef flavors and a NY Strip texture. Service was friendly and professional, but it took a... More

We had a great meal, and great service at Le Bar! We originally had reservations for Marche, but decided Le Bar looked more our style, with a great menu of really reasonably priced entrees. We had amazing cocktails, great apps, and a fabulous hamburger after a long day of mountain biking. So much fun, and 10 feet from our great... More

Marche is always a great meal! Fresh local ingredients are used to create innovative , delicious dishes. Menu changes seasonally to reflect local ingredients. Lovely venue with friendly, professional staff. I would eat here everyday if I could.

This was recommended by the local Hilton. It was a short distance from the hotel. From the minute we arrived until our departure, it was great. It was a Friday summer evening. The restaurant was busy but they were able to quickly seat us. I had a side of filberts/hazelnuts and they were delicious and locally grown. My husband and... More

This is the best meal I've ever had in a restaurant in Eugene, so I'm giving it five stars. If we were giving out objective, international stars, it's probably a four-star place but this is Eugene -- not Rome. I have a weird theory about picking good restaurants. If it's a mid to high priced place and there are people... More

Marché is my go to restaurant for any occasion, birthdays, promotions, before ballet or just because I feel like having great food. Probably the best restaurant in Eugene. They host food events along with special dinner courses featuring recipes from chefs like Julia Child. They serve dishes that are in season and have simple yet delicious cocktails. My only little... Some time back, I took a friend out to Marche's for lunch. The environment was beautiful, the staff attentive and friendly. When my entree arrived I feasted on the most delicious piece of salmon I had ever had. When suddenly I realized that I had ordered the Free Range Chicken. When the waitress came to check on our meals, I... More
