Service is wonderful! They treat you like royalty. And the food is the best Chinese food ever. So the combination of these two facts would lead you to believe a fancy restaurant and expensive. No! Ordered quite a few things to have for a couple of meals, the beef noodle dish, most of the beef was fat, the dish is very salty and the egg rolls I ordered were just wierd and didn't taste anything like egg rolls I have had elsewhere - if they were tasty I wouldn't mind the difference but it too... This is not find dining, so don't expect that. However, it is authentic and greasy. I have a friend from Honsu (SP?), China, who attended school at the UofO and swears this is the most authentic Chinese in town (he was there recently as well). This does mean MSG, which is only bad for those with an allergy to it,... More

Yes, to the naked eye, this place looks like a dive. Guess what? It is. Maple Garden is the second worst Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten at. (Tom's Tea House, strangely also in Eugene, is the worst). The food here is truly an abomination. Absolutely wrong in terms of ingredients and execution. And don't get me started about the... More

To the naked eye this place looks like a dive. However, for the brave "foodie" looking beyond the menu will get you farther. This place is family owned and the staff is more than happy to oblige any unique orders, including authentic cuisine that is not actually on the menu, like pickled duck noodles, or fried duck with shrimp sauce....
