Favorite restaurant in Eugene

I could live off of the Eugenewich, or the BBQ Sammie. Actually, sometimes I do. I get into these little binge modes where I will eat one or the other everyday for a week. Their peanut butter chocolate crispy bars are heaven too. Even my omni friends enjoy their food. They are spot on with texture... read more

I had a portobello meal and the mushroom was pretty gross. The fries, mac Uncheese and cornbread were delicious thouhh, and my friend loved the chili and gluten free cornbread. the restaurant is small and there was only one server for the whole place, which meant our service suffered and the wait was long. My friend needed vegan options so... More

After an hour long walk through Eugene I stopped in for lunch. I got the Mac and cheese, which came with phenomenal garlic bread and a salad (or soup). It was filling and delicious. I had a root beer float for dessert. I overheard the people at the table next to me saying that their fake meat tasted better than... More

With so many good reviews, and with a need for restaurant protein free of dead animals, I finally tried the Cornbread Cafe. It feels good inside, and there was a pleasing variety of people, from Mennonites to massed white dreads, hipsters to shrieking babies to elderly folks. I like the down-home decor. I didn't like the loud music--playing, as usual,... More

Mac and Cheese, mashed taters and gravy, fried chick'n, corn bread.......who doesn't love this kind of food? But, you always feel bad about eating it. Right? Not when you go to Cornbread Cafe. It's all plant based and fabulous!

After a mildly disappointing stay in Portland, this is where we got our fix of hip/weird Oregon. After seeing it on the show "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" we go into Eugene asking my family there if it really lived up to the hype. They all agreed that my boyfriend and I needed to make a stop. So after touring U... More

I've been here three times (two lunches and one dinner) all were very good. Creative vegan food that any meat eater can love, and the best tofu (Eugenewich) I've ever experienced. Be aware, this is comfort food, not necessarily health food and many items are calorie laden, but oh-so-good. Old diner atmosphere may put some off, but it's quite clean.... More

My daughter goes to UO and we came here on our first visit to Eugene. I did not disappoint! If you are a vegan who likes to get your sandwich and fries fix once in a while, this is the place. Delicious vegan food from the Eugenewich--fried tofu sandwich with hay stack onions--to fried "fish" to "ribs." It's all good.... More

Looking for my bowl of oatmeal and was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast menu of eggless omelets and hemp breakfast sausages. Very pleased with service and atmosphere...price was comparable to average meal. The bathrooms are labeled 'anyone' so that confused me at first but then remembered I was in a college town. I'm glad we found it on a fluke-will... More
