A food delight

Agonized over where to eat our one night in Eugene. Selected Excelsior based on other reviews. We were not disappointed. The food, wine and service were all wonderful. Yes, it is a bit pricey. But I would not call it overpriced. Sometimes you just have to pay more to get an exceptional meal.

One of the few fine dining spots in the area. It is good quality and costly. It is fine for a relaxing and not rushed experience.

We had an early dinner in this quaint place. The atmosphere is nice, not too fancy but definitely classy. Dinner was quite good, and we had a nice Brunello off the varied wine list. We had seen desserts in the case in the foyer that looked wonderful, but when we actually got them it seemed like they had been there... More

My book club met for lunch and good conversation. We sat outdoors. Lovely setting, good food and very good service. Highly recommend.

Probably some of the best food I've ever had with great service and magnificent surroundings. You will probably need reservations; there is limited seating. There is also a nice inn with restored rooms. Well worth the visit and the price.

The Italian menu is always unique, meals are prepared beautifully always with unique flair. Many local ingredients are sourced locally. The service has always been excellent and it is a good spot to bring guests. The seating is a little crowded sometimes, and if the main dining area is available that is preferable. Prices are a bit high, but so... More

I can't comment on prices because I didn't pay. But the quality was uniformly excellent. The mozzarella, beets and carrots combination on the starter was great and the filet mignon was simply perfect. Attentive but not intrusive service and a great atmosphere. If I lived in Eugene, I'd be back!

The Excelsior Inn is a verrry fine dining establishment. The meals are of the utmost quality and they get many of their ingredients locally, which is an absolute plus. The meals are on the expensive side but if you're going here, than that is to be expected. The atmosphere is very romantic and would classify as a higher end dining... More

By far this is the finest restaurant in Eugene, both in terms of service, food and atmosphere (in the main dining room not the bistro side). Prices are fine dining range of $25-35 for main courses and 10-20 for most appetizers although a few are less. Probably the most expensive place I have found in Eugene so far. But I... More

The dinner was a gift from my sister and of course that made it even more special. We ate early because we were going to a play- the atmosphere is amazing and comfortable. The wait staff were attentive and offered great suggestions for sides, wine and desserts. I knew I was having lamb, this restaurant is known for the superb... More
