Being from the south, I was interested to try Soul food in Oregon. The restaurant was interesting inside and the staff was very nice. The homemade lemonade was very tart which was nice, but the spices used in the beans and macaroni and cheese made these two items very strange. The briskett needed more sauce, but it was very moist... More

From the fall of the bone ribs, to the jerked chicken sandwich to the fried catfish, it was all good. The sides of potato salad, yams, greens and corn bread rate high too. Mac and cheese, not so great. Live music, a pleasant outdoor setting and not one thing on the menu more than $12 made for a very nice... More

Although the wait might be long depending on the time and day, Papa's Soul Food has great food and a really great atmosphere. I love the fried catfish and all the sides we've tried have been really good. Plus, the portion sizes are very good - definitely enough for leftovers. We also love how they have live old-time blues music... More

Very ordinary. Oysters were over breaded and over fried, cornbread was dry, coleslaw had no flavor, French fries were soggy and mildly warm, the white wine was very sweet unknown to the waiter. This meal took over a half hour to serve???? Pleasant staff

I love Papas! It is our favorite place to get BBQ. Usually I order ribs and my husband the pulled pork sandwich but lately I have been trying whatever they have on special and I have been impressed. Their brisket and dark bread are especially good. There is always a line so plan to go for a walk around the... More

We loved this place. Expect a wait, we put our names in and came back. The food was delicious, great portion size, awesome decor, good live music on Saturday night, and great regional cocktails. I would eat here again in a minute! We had a sampler plate, pulled pork sandwich, bbq chicken, macaroni and cheese, hush puppies, and more. The... More

Usual hour wait for a table is no big thing. Sit and have a couple of Microbrews while you wait or a traditional southern drink. the wait just makes the food all the more enticing. Far from a healthfood restaturant, the home cooked southern food is just wonderful. From the homemade hotlinks, to the pulled pork, you cannot go wrong... More

Let me just get it out of the way and say that yes, this restaurant is literally someone cooking out of their modest home, but that's actually awesome. Only the first floor is open to dining, and it's probably always packed (it was while I was there). They said the wait would be over a half hour, but a college-student... More

Food was great. We had pork ribs, finger lickin good. I had red beans and rice, sweet potatoes and hush puppies. Husband had the ribs, collard greens, baked beans and corn bread

This little restaurant is in a cute neighborhood, in a remodeled rambler. We sat out on the deck, watching the band set up for the night's entertainment. It's a blues joint and says so on the menu. Great beer to go along with some great fried chicken...the best we've found in Oregon so far. Sides are good. Wait staff was... More
