The site itself looks so inviting from the street. No reservations are accepted and they wouldn't seat us until our entire party arrived but we were told they had a table available for our group of eight. We waited far too long for our table once our entire party was there (which was only minutes from when we put our... More

Came in for lunch. I tried to order jerk chicken. They were out of it. Had to settle with something else. It took almost 30 mins to get my order. The service just OK the food was horrible.

This is a genuine BBQ joint with great food, lots of atmosphere, and friendly wait staff. Our party of four tried the ribs (great smoked, a bit dry w/out the sauce), jerk chicken (great), and catfish (battered in pieces and deep fried - different but good). Sides - greens, mac & cheese, black-eyed peas, whipped sweet potatoes, cornbread - all... More

Not a big or fancy restaurant and obviously popular. Especially if you want to sit outside, be prepared to wait if needed. It's worth it and they will get you seated as quickly as humanly possible. While you wait, enjoy a hand-shaken cocktail, well crafted by a bartender who is into the art. After 15 minutes or so, we were... More

This was our first time here on recommendation of our daughter for her graduation dinner. The place isn't huge, has a bar and small waiting area. It can get crowded and reservations aren't accepted. The ribs were excellent and the atmosphere felt a little like bbq in Memphis. The pulled pork and corn bread are must haves. Ver-ry reasonable prices!... More

Being from the south, I was interested to try Soul food in Oregon. The restaurant was interesting inside and the staff was very nice. The homemade lemonade was very tart which was nice, but the spices used in the beans and macaroni and cheese made these two items very strange. The briskett needed more sauce, but it was very moist... More

From the fall of the bone ribs, to the jerked chicken sandwich to the fried catfish, it was all good. The sides of potato salad, yams, greens and corn bread rate high too. Mac and cheese, not so great. Live music, a pleasant outdoor setting and not one thing on the menu more than $12 made for a very nice... More

Although the wait might be long depending on the time and day, Papa's Soul Food has great food and a really great atmosphere. I love the fried catfish and all the sides we've tried have been really good. Plus, the portion sizes are very good - definitely enough for leftovers. We also love how they have live old-time blues music... More

Very ordinary. Oysters were over breaded and over fried, cornbread was dry, coleslaw had no flavor, French fries were soggy and mildly warm, the white wine was very sweet unknown to the waiter. This meal took over a half hour to serve???? Pleasant staff

I love Papas! It is our favorite place to get BBQ. Usually I order ribs and my husband the pulled pork sandwich but lately I have been trying whatever they have on special and I have been impressed. Their brisket and dark bread are especially good. There is always a line so plan to go for a walk around the... More
