Me mother and I happened by chance to stop off in Cottage Grove in search of lunch and stumbled upon this great little cafe. Locally and family owned, friendly folks and great/speedy service. I am writing my review before I have even tried their food, but I am going to trust that it is good eats. So... Overall I am... More

We stopped at this bakery quite by chance not realizing that we had stumbled into such an interesting find. The bakery itself is an almost hidden door an a side street. It is quite literally backstage because the bakery connects to a cafe and bookstore which face the main street. From 4 PM onward the front section is the Ax... More

This was a good stop off I-5 on our way back to Portland. We arrived about 1130 on a Monday and there were about 3 other tables seated in the "theater" area. The menu had quite a few choices--we both ended up with the half sandwich and soup combination. Both our meals were very good, better than a fast food... More

Best B & G with fried eggs and bacon Topped with amazing sausage gravy and green onion I have ever had the pleasure of devouring. Ambience is inviting with old brick and wood floors w/bakery, cafe, full bar and used book store rolled into one. Why cant we have something like this in the Roseburg area? Portions and prices excellent... More

Had the Club Sandwich and it was one of the best that we've had in a long time. Fresh Baguette and fresh ingredients. Excellent service! Interesting motif as the location is shared with a Bar/club (after 4:00) and an adjoining vintage book store.

We had lunch at the Backstage and loved the sandwiches and soup. Plus we bought the best pastries. The scones were soft and delicious, and the breakfast muffin was delicious!

Go here. So comfortable. The atmosphere is relaxed and has an inviting hippie-vibe. Coffee is AMAZING (organic) and their food is delicious! Soup, pizza, sandwiches, etc. you won't be dissapointed. Visit a few times and the friendly staff will remember you, your order, and treat you like family. Whenever I have friends come from out of town, we eat here.... More

We went to the other bakery in town on our first day, since we had seen good reviews on it. It was fine, but not extraordinary. Then, by accident, we spied this place on a side street and decided to try it the next day. We were very glad we did. This is a family run business with very friendly... More
