I ate at this restaurant recently while in town on a trip, and I can't think of any way the experience could have been better. I was welcomed at the door and escorted to a booth, which was comfortable. The decor was nice, and the acoustics kept the sound level down. The waiter was friendly and attentive without hovering. The... More

I'm not exaggerating at all, this was the absolute best German food that I have had in the United States. Having been to Europe several times and spending most of it in Germany I believe my opinion to be of value here. I had the lunch portion Wiener schnitzel . The schnitzel was crisp on the outside, not crunchy overcooked... More

OMG. I Don't know how else to driscribe EXCELLENCE. WE Live an hour away, Yet we have made it a habit to eat at Blue Heron Bistro once a week. I LOVE the German Beers. THE FOOD IS THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. We used to go to Whistler Canada for German food..UGH. Another great place for us in... More

Authentic German food, hospitality and super cool decor! Wim and Adam make this place a true gem in the Pac NW's crown! It is my favorite restaurant in all of Oregon. Dont miss this place. The Oktoberfest plate is my favorite along with a nice stein of Paulaner.

Cool place with great bartender, and host. He have been around for some time and love it so much you will probably meet him again if you visit again in years from now. I like that. People who stay in for a long run usually bring some personality to a lounge like this. This is great for sausage, bier, and... More

Alert to all Trip Advisor travelers on the Oregon Coast! I kept thinking that I could just find some good local food by putting out the right vibe... hoping for a great, local crab shack where we could eat something freshly and locally caught. I guess I wasn't putting out the right vibe. I found a lot of fast food... More

Owned by a Dutchman this restaurant turns out typical german food with lots of sausages: rookwurst, bratwurst, knockwurst, etc and sauerkraut, noodles, sauerbraten etc. Deserts include fruit strudel. Surroundings are similar to a typical german beer keller and the servers are friendly and attentive. As with all restaurants in Coos Bay don't plan on having a late evening's meal here.

Dear RPlummer: Thanks so much for your kind review. It's people like you who make it all worthwhile . . . even though I've had one or two snooty Germans in here who thought a Dutchman couldn't possibly do justice to their food. But most Germans loved our place, especially after weeks and weeks of hamburgers and fish & chips.... More

A surprising find...quality German food in Coos Bay. Had the schnitzel. Crispy coating, cooked perfectly, fork tender, and a HUGE helping, at reasonable price. Also have to note the excellent home grown tomatoes. Many choices of draft imported beer. Excellent service, friendly and helpful. Would definitely eat here again. Only wish the were closer to where we live. THANK YOU for... More

Without a doubt, we had the best schnitzel of our lives here! And I'm including meals in Germany. The pieces of crisply breaded veal were so huge that we took the leftovers away with us and had them for dinner on the following two evenings. I wish we lived closer to Coos Bay so that we could try everything on... More

We ate dinner here this evening. This restaurant certainly has the feel of a German restaurant in Europe. I ordered the schnitzel, and my husband had the goulash. Our meals were both absolutely superb. My schnitzel was the best I've ever had. The service was friendly and efficient, and if you are in Coos Bay, do have a meal here!... More
