This place is located in a not so great part of town but the food is absolutely amazing! The food quality is top notch and the portions are amazing. Definitely try it if you are in town.

Once in a long while you 'accidentally' find a restaurant that is so good you want to tell everyone you know about it. I was in Coos Bay for business and needed to eat and I came across Empire Cafe. I went in without reservations (reservations are STRONGLY advised) and was kindly accommodated even with limited seating (it's a very... More

We have enjoyed the dining experience at Empire Cafe several times. Care is taken with the ingredients and the preparation. The bread is baked next door at the bakery. The desserts are made in house. We haven't had a less than wonderful experience at this locally owned cafe.

Empire cafe has amazing local fresh food! Their fresh seafood and burger are out of this world! Great selection of wine and cocktails. Beautiful artwork done by the owner and a crackling fire makes this place so enjoyable and cozy on a cold rainy evening.

Chic little place in a not-so-chic part of town and one of the earlier attempts at gentrification orf the neighborhood and a successful one at that. A small but ever changing and eclectic menu, always good bistro food. Excellent wine selection and a full bar. Small and intimate.

Fresh ingredients, varied menu, all prepared by a very well trained and experienced Chef. Comfortable surroundings and well decorated, excellent wait staff.

We used to LOVE going to Empire cafe! The food tastes great and the portions were respectable, but since they've changed their menu (and management?) you pay more for less! We went recently and ordered a "dinner" which was a tiny piece of meat hiding a tiny portion of kale beside mac 'n cheese. While it was super tasty, it... More

This is really a mixed review. My meal was a "10!" Absolutely fabulous black cod. However, it was expensive and no salad or soup came with it; so in comparison to our favorite restaurant, the price we paid was too much for what we got. My husband's pork was tough and expensive and he rated it a "6." Our friends... More

Fresh organic food thoughtfully prepared. The cheese plate we enjoyed our first visit was garnished with fresh succulent organic peaches that he chose that morning from a farmer's market. The Pork chop is amazing. The chef and owner, Bryan Elam is an esteemed chef - recently chef at Bandon Dunes. His wife Jessica, is an accomplished artist whose paintings are... More

We went on a Wednesday night in October 2013. I had the salad and grilled shrimp, and my husband had the steak. His entree was delicious, he said. My salad had to be, hands down, the best salad I have had in a LONG time. It was full of FRESH greens, cucumber, tomato, sweet peppers and a fantastic dressing. The... More
