German food, well-prepared & quite a good bar. You can watch the sunset from huge windows. Good place for a date.

Although we live in Seattle, we have to drive all the way to Portland for German food this delicious. The spatzle is so well seasoned and wonderful. The wurst? Wunderbar! The German potato salad is warm and delicious and comforting. They have a great selection of beer and wine (but really, if you are eating German food, you should drink... More

Lentil soup this time - it was fantastic. I eat here every time I come down to Portland to visit my wife's grave.

WE come here often. The food is consistent. Nothing trendy here, just good German food. This time the spatzle was a liitle over cooked. The rest of the food was good.

I ate an early supper at Gustav's and was there during happy hour. The appetizer was enough to fill me up along with the large stein of Weihenstephaner Dopplebock bier. I had visited this brewery in Freisburg Germany in 2004 and was delighted to sample their dunkelbier again. This bier comes from the oldest brewery in the WORLD!!! It started... More

I met friends for cocktails after work.... our waitress, Jen, was AWESOME. We didn't really want dinner but happy hour foods... she came by and checked on us, brought our drinks very fast after ordering and she was quite a gem... always smiling. Very helpful... we tipped her very well... by the way, their fondue is the best in town,... More

the specials for Gustav's Octoberfest were excellent ans reasonably priced. Our waiter adjusted our bill after we ordered a few beer steins that were outside the limits defined in the specials. A nice German atmosphere with an accordionist and group singing. Food was also tasty with decent portions.

I always try to stop here when I am in the Portland area because the food is always great. I was here for dinner with a few of my family who live nearby, before heading back home to Florida. The inside of Gustav"s has undergone a very beautiful renovation, and everything looks fresh and clean. They have a few new... More
