I loved this place... Sweet, quaint, yummy, gourmet, fresh... Good wine and yes live music. A very french countryside cafe feel with rustic furnishing and soft lighting . I had the crab stuffed portabello mushroom with fresh wild green. Omg!!! I may be back tomorrow.

Loved the appetizers and wine. My hubby and I shared the smoked salmon bruschetta, shrimp and artichoke and special eggplant appetizers with a lovely August Cellar Reisling. To add to the evening was some wonderful local Jazz musicians. I would definitely return next time we come to town.

THIS is the place for healthy and/or vegetarian meals in Cannon Beach. Loved my Vegetarian Reuben (smokey tomato field roast vegan slices, sauerkraut, thousand island dressing, and swiss cheese served on whole wheat) but there are many other good choices too. Sit down and relax because you're not going to get your food fast (and it isn't fast food either!)... More

We were super impressed with Sweet Basil's. Our server set us up with beautiful wine pairings - husband had a "zesty" jambalaya (his word) and I had an interesting curry & salmon dish -- mine was a little bizarre, in a good way -- could have benefited from some rice. We will return the next time we find ourselves on... More

Good food! The lunch menu offers great vegetarian and vegan options - wraps, paninis, melts, salads and sandwiches -- alll looked good as did the pies. Lunch is served at a very leisurely pace; it wasn't a busy time of day yet it took quite awhile for our wait person to acknowledge us both as we waited to be seated,... More

Went to Sweet Basil Cafe today. There were 5 of us and we were cold, wet, and hungry! The older lady who waited on people was very unfriendly and made us feel like we were a burden. I don't care how good the food is, it would not have been worth it!

Sweet Basil's Cafe is sweet and homey and cozy and, most important, the food is sooooo good! John Sowa must be one of the best chefs in the world. Every meal I've had there has been wonderful, fresh, unique, and very tasty.

We loved everything about it! We enjoyed lunch there two days In a row and had we stayed in Cannon Beach longer, would have made it a third. My favorite was the grilled eggplant sandwich....very flavorful. Topped it off with homemade chocolate pecan pie....heavenly. The service was great and the kitchen was amazingly quiet while they worked filling orders. It... More

It was New Years eve, and we booked a table for the early sitting. We were excited because we had enjoyed this place on an earlier visit. The menu was fixed which should have been ok because they advertise themselves as strong on vegetarian options. However there was very little to choose from. I had a cajun shrimp dish. My... More

First I am truly sorry that your experience with us wasn't your best. I'm the owner and chef so the buck stops with me. The confusion I have with your experiences is the questions about the lack of vegetarian items. All our sauces except for jambalaya are vegan and many of our guests will substitute tofu or Portobello mushrooms in... More

Our meal was absolutely wonderful....lots of flavor and fresh ingredients. Where else can you get authentic Cajun cooking? I think it is the best in Cannon Beach for the price. There are many places to eat in Cannon Beach but they are way over priced. At least here you get really good food for a fair price. Also love the... More
