Loved the food, hated the wait

We arrived at the restaurant around 5:50 pm on a Thursday evening. The very small dining room was already full and we were told it would be about an hour and a half wait, so we left our name and cell phone number with the hostess and went out to Hemlock Street to check out the shops and art... read more

Wow! Worth the hour wait. We went with our four year old on a road trip and this was the best meal of our trip. The service was incredible and you can tell everything is made from scratch and the heart (including the syrup in the cocktails). Furthermore, I have an allergy and most places seem confused when I mention... More

After reading reviews on Yelp and TA, we decided to give this place a try. It's a small restaurant, and we walked in at the right time and snagged a table, but it was full the whole time. The drinks were very good, there was a little something for everyone, i personally had the Stawberry Kiwi Mojito...yum! The menu was... More

We had to wait close to an hour and the food was on the expensive side (around $20 per plate) but once it arrived it was great. Excellent and would recommend to anyone traveling around the Oregon coast. The Haystack Chicken was a lot of food and prepared with interesting flavors. Didn't want to stop eating!

The creative cocktail concoctions (rum punch is great), the New Orleans-inspired entrees, cozy atmosphere and friendly service combine to make this my favorite place on the northern Oregon coast. Entree prices are moderately high, but worth every penny! We had the jambalaya with shrimp added and the special pork entree - both of which were excellent. Only challenges are the... More

Food was phenomenal and the staff was excellent. The chef came over to see how we were enjoying the food. Fantastic experience.

Tiny place with no reservations. The wait was worth it. They will call you when the table is ready. Unique food and drinks. Fresh fish with a carribean twist. You can't go wrong!

My wife and I ate at castaways last night, August 2nd. We arrived at 7PM and waited until 8 or so for a table but that is consistent with most other places in town. Few take reservations. We enjoyed our drinks and dinner and we thought the staff was friendly and engaging, although overworked. Many people inquired about the wait... More
