Had a worst experience at bend just because of visiting this hotel. Never knew how it got 3 ratings for the useless service and hospitality. May be its situated on the downtown. Unfriendly people serving the dishes. Unprofessional and more over they didnt even acknowledge us once we entered in.Please dont waste your time by going here

Went for dinner with family. Ordered thali with spinach lentil curry, paneer masala and idlis. Food was good and prices reasonable. Service was prompt. Breads were undercooked and gulab jamun was too soft. Lentils were excellent. Overall, not a bad choice considering it is the only Indian restaurant for 100s of miles in the area.

We recently had lunch at the Taj Palace Indian Cuisine in downtown Bend. The buffet has a large selection of dishes. The chicken curry was particularly tender and delicious. There were quite of few vegetarian dishes complementing the several meat dishes. My favorite Indian food is their bread called "naan." Their naan was very well prepared, but the challenge all... We ate lunch here and not your ordinary buffet ,the food was fresh , lots of choices , and economical. One of the chicken dishes( can't remember the name ) was especially good , I went back for seconds!

My husband and I ate here one evening while staying in Bend. The restaurant was serving the buffet the night we came, which was a plus for our decision. We both really enjoy Indian food and this place did not disappoint. The buffet had a fairly large variety of offerings and we enjoyed everything we ate. The restaurant has a... More

We had a pleasant surprise wondering around Bend on Mother's Day. My favorite, an Indian buffet. the atmosphere was kind of dark, but ok. The food was good, especially the spinach/bean dish. The chili chicken also rocked. The surprise was that there are seats out back with a view of the Deschutes River. Yeah its across a parking lot, but... More

We were happy to see an Indian restaurant in Bend on a recent visit. We love Indian food. The atmosphere could use some help, but overall it did satisfy my Indian food craving. It was average, not any dishes that were amazing, but was all very tasty. The buffet seemed fine to me, lots of good options. The eggplant fried... More

I have steered clear of Indian food for most of my life but on this occasion I decided to take a leap. I had to go outside to make a phone call and I had my daughter order for me. I ended up with chicken vindaloo and it was awesome. I think I might be a convert! Thanks Taj Palace.

We recently returned to Taj Palace to see if it had changed at all as we love Indian cuisine. I was so glad we did as it has improved immensely. Everything was so much better, but especially the buttered chicken and mixed vegetables, as well as the saag paneer.

A Bend friend enthusiastically recommended the place, and we jumped through hoops to find it (a few doors north of the theater) ... and were we disappointed! The spices were heavy-handed and not as sensitive to the flavors of the main ingredients as usually the case with Indian food. My partner couldn't eat one of the dishes -- not shown... More
