We have visited Bend annually for the past several years, and usually have our first and last dinners of our visit at Pine Tavern. The pluses--our first night reservation (August 16) was honored on time, we sat outside as we usually do along the Deschutes River (great location), and the wait staff was excellent. In fact, there was an issue... More

We have continued to return to this wonderful restaurant over the years. We always sit outside to enjoy the great weather, beautiful flowering gardens and peaceful view overlooking the river. The food is delicious and the wait staff are very personable and helpful. Two unique attributes are the trees growing through the roof of the main dining room and the... More

This restaurant has been around for like 80 years and only had four owners. It's a classic in it's ambiance and character. You know there is a pine tree growing out of the inside dining area. But, they have a great menu selection and top notch quality. I had the Baby Back ribs and I've never had any that I... More

My husband and I went here on a recommendation and couldn't have been more pleased. We walked in four minutes before happy hour ended (we had no idea - both the hostess and bartender told us- and they made sure to honor the happy hour prices on our drinks and appetizer at the bar). We had a great patio table... More

Went with daughter to see the change in menu since owner change a few months back. I had the best trout ever! Prices have gone up and the waiter needed help on a busy Friday night. But because we didn't order wine, he may not have been as attentive. Very enjoyable nevertheless. Maybe it was because I hadn't been there... More

Awesome, just awesome. Nice bartenders, hand squeezed citrus for the cocktails. Best salty dog ever. The food was so good, but it was a late night stop and we would loved to have had a full dinner there. OH, and the scones, so dang good!

My parents grew up with the Pine Tavern. It was the place to gather when they were growing up in the 40's and 50's. In fact, my grandfather was instrumental in building around the trees in the dining room. However, it has changed hands so many times and now it is not what it used to be. A couple of... More

High points Good menu choice of typical American food. We had reservations which was necessary on a busy Friday night. There is a great outdoor seating area with view of the water that is wonderful. Recommend the dining room near the tree for best indoor seating. Low points Service was slow and our waiter was clearly in A hurry and... More

We were visiting Bend for the first time, and had asked the team at the Visit Bend tourism office for a memorable restaurant recommendation for our last night in town before embarking south for Crater Lake and points southward. They enthusiastically recommended the Pine Tavern for its ambience and views. So that's where we decided to go. We were so... More

Our friends who live here took us here for happy hour. The drinks, food and service were all good. The downside was that the happy hour menu was only available in the bar, you could not sit outside and enjoy the view of the river. All in all it was a very good stop.
