Nice dinner in an historic place

Had dinner here the evening of April 10 seated at a table in the bar. I enjoyed the wedge salad and the chicken marsala served with mashed potatoes. It was fun to walk into the dining room and see the two trees that grow up through the ceiling. It's a good place; you won't go wrong by dining... read more

There is a tree growing out of this building. Literally. The line tavern has been a Bend tradition for years. From the amazing scones and honey butter to the beautiful backyard scenery. If you decide to go make sure to bring some extra cash for they do charge more than McDonald's. And expect a line on weekends.

After traveling 6+ hours and being sad that the lava field was closed for the season, we found this gem in old town. The staff was very accommodating, and the ambiance was great. The meals were a little pricy, but well worth it. My husband had a blackened steak while I had the chicken marsala. Both were very tasty. The... More

After reading mixed reviews we were hesitant to try this place. But a friend insisted that we go here and I'm so glad we did! The service was friendly and efficient. But the food...yum! At the top of the list are the ridiculously tasty scones with honey butter. Also try the meatloaf. It's probably the best I've ever had. I... More

We stopped in for brunch as we were strolling Bend. We didn't have a reservation but it didn't seem to be a problem as it wasn't very crowded. The brunch menu looked interesting, but the food was fairly bland. Service was very slow. The Bloody Mary had several options and was good. It's a cute place, but would not return... More

When my sister and I recently visited relatives in Prineville, we spotted the Pine Tavern on Oregon St., in Bend, and remembered fondly the special times our parents took us there. Of course the back room and patio did not exist then, but what a fantastic idea. We enjoyed the comfort food of Fried Chicken and Meat Loaf. Waite staff... More

My husband and I had dinner here. The only thing I can remember about it is that it looked like the building was built around a tree since there's a big one growing inside and it goes out the roof - or looks like it is. We don't remember what we ate, so I guess it wasn't worth remembering.

I remember back in 1990 when The Pine Tavern was the nicest restaurant in Bend. But unfortunately it has not kept up with the competition over the years. This place needs a complete overhaul from the menu to the decor. We find the food to be satisfying, but unimaginative. The service is just OK. And the atmosphere is charming, but... More

Geez, my buddy and I show up for dinner. They put us in this booth with curtins. I thought we were in a bordello, but she never showed up.

Hearing that the new ownership had made changes, we decided to see, feel and taste the difference. Happily, we agree with the comments that we heard and will return. The menu is appealing and we enjoyed the entrees we chose and the presentation. Staff was attentive and well trained. What we also enjoyed was that the dining room was quiet... More
