Staying at the Best Western next door, it was inevitable that we ate at least one meal here. We choose breakfast, and were not disappointed. Excellent, quintessential road food. French toast, eggs benedict, and scrambled eggs were all great. The bacon (5 slices! ) was REALLY good. The service was perfect "truck stop", and the coffee was even not as... More

We were driving through on a Seattle to Denver haul and happened to stop in. The fried pickles were legit. I had a mushroom swiss burger which really hit the spot. The train going around the place was amazing to look at. We had no idea about it going it so it was an amazing surprise. We will be stopping... More

The train broke down right before we got here. I hear it runs approximately 16 hours a day. So I guess it wasn't my time to see the train lol. The chicken fried steak, egg, and hash browns were excellent. The waitress was very nice and friendly. A plus service.

We have been here a few times. Young or old it's fun to see the train travel around the restaurant. Good service and good food.

I ate breakfast at noonish. The place was very busy but my server was prompt, efficient and personable. My food arrived quickly and was just as i ordered. It was tasty and hot. The train that travels around the restaurant is fun and certainly held the attention of the kids that were there.

We were just looking for something decent for a light lunch and found Sumpter Junction Restaurant near our exit from I-84. We decided to go local and were very glad that we did. We've been to restaurants that featured model trains before, but nothing like this--a model train passing by one's elbows right at the booth about every 8 to... More

You will be seated near or across from the Restrooms where you will be able to have a full view of the inside of the Restrooms as guests are entering and leaving. I'm a slight sensitive to that issue so ask for seating away from the area. I have visited this restaurant about five times. The wait staff has always... More

I first visited this restaurant about 6 years ago when passing through Baker City on a backpacking trip. As a girl, I loved the train that went through the restaurant, and never forgot it. My husband and I were going through Baker City for our anniversary, and I just had to bring him there to show him the train. He... More

Right next to the Best Western motel, it has a fine G gauge model railroad running around the eating area. Very "down home" food including briskets and gravy [not fur enough south for grits]. Well prepared comfort food would be a good description
