Yep - what you'd expect from a Route 66 Cafe

Ate here on a Friday night. Went in at about 6:30pm and it took a good while to squeeze in and then be seated. Seems everyone does the same thing on Friday nights. The reviews are all accurate - Chicken Fried Steaks and similar diner / Cafe items right up until when they run out of an item for... read more

It has been on the television show diners, dives, and drive ins from the food network. Try some calf fries or their chicken fried steak or home made chips.

It was 2:30 in the afternoon on Tuesday when we were going through town on our way home from a trip, had not eaten since breakfast. Even at mid afternoon this place was almost full. The service was good, the food was very good, and plenty of it. It is an old fashioned place where you pay at the counter... More

Clanton's is the local favorite for good reason. Catfish, chicken fried chicken sandwich, and chicken fried steak are all great options. The green beans, fried or steamed, are awesome. All kinds of pie for dessert.

If it's good enough for Guy Fieri, it's good enough for me. We randomly stopped in this place for lunch and what a great find. I had a new menu item, the patty melt. It was outstanding! Perfectly toasty marble rye, grilled onions, melty swiss cheese and super tasty burger. At the waitress's recommendation I had homemade potato chips and... More

Clanton's has good home-cooked food. We would eat here again. We were pleased to find the food had good flavor and appeared to be made-from-scratch. We ate every bite (I have left many a meal, on-the-road, at other places). The wait staff is very friendly and attentive, in spite of the cafe being packed.

We eat here about every time we go up I-44 to Joplin. Stopped in the 5/22/15 about 1 p.m. and they were very busy. I ordered the chicken & dressing, very good! The wive ordered chicken fried steak about after finishing our salads the waitress came out and told us the were out of CFS. We were shocked, she had... More

The food was very good - chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak. Large portions. Staff was all business and not friendly. Did not come back to check on drink status once you got the meal. Would still eat here again because food was good.

We drove Route 66 (or parts of it) and had to stop here. What a throw back.....the staff are super friendly and you can tell they like their jobs. The food is very good. My husband had the chicken fried steak sandwich and I had the coconut cream pie. Definitely home style cooking. Prices are so reasonable. My slice of... More

I make it a point to stop by Clanton's any time I'm in the Vinita area. Not only are they one of the oldest family-run businesses on all of Route 66, they have continued to focus on quality service and quality ingredients to provide some fantastic home cooking-style dishes. There are a lot of places in Oklahoma you can get... More
