Very good

Very good in all respects. Nice setting; fantastic seafood cheesecake app; osso bucco was very good but served over pasta instead of risotto; brown trout was very nice; creme brulee to finish.

Last year, we were spending a family weekend in Tulsa and I had heard about French Hen. French food is a serious weakness for me. I visited the website and two things occurred to me. 1) I HAD to eat here. 2) It would NOT be fair to their other customers to dine in that atmosphere with a two year... More

We ate here last month and found the food to be fantastic. The duck is particularly good. I recommend the place if you are in the mood for a French meal in Tulsa. The ambience is very nice as well.

We moved away from Tulsa in 1998. At that time The French Hen was one of our favorite restaurants. On a return visit we were delighted to learn that the French Hen was still in business. We set up a business luncheon with our accountant and were hoping for the best. And, the best is what was delivered! We had... More

David, Thank you for returning to dine with us on your visit to Tulsa. We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed it just as much as you did 16 years ago. What a great compliment! We hope to see you again soon on your next trip. Happy Holidays, - French Hen More

French Hen is one of the very few French restaurants left in Tulsa, and French is our favorite. We try to get by there a couple of times a year, though we live in Tahlequah and that's often difficult. The cocktails are good and comparatively inexpensive, and the ambiance perfect. We've never had a bad meal or bad service. I... More

MgEditor, What a great review and compliment that you make the trip from Talequah to dine with us on a regular occasion! We definitely appreciate your kind words on our ambiance, service, price points, and cuisine. Thank you. One side note: We are still with Open Table, but have experienced some technical difficulties with them that are currently being resolved.... More

A quaint, cozy place. My first choice in Tulsa. The wine list offers a wide selection including several good choices by the glass, all reasonably priced. An excellent baguette with generous butter came promptly. A bon bouche of prime chicken salad on crostini with a balsamic reduction teed up my palette. The fried oysters in creamed spinach appetizer was listed... More

My husband and I lived in Broken arrow, OK over 15 years ago, and we discovered The French Hen. We ate there many times, and brought out of state guests there when they visited us. We live in Philadelphia now with great restaurants, BUT The French Hen is at the top of our list still. My mouth waters when I... More

I had the opportunity to eat here many years ago during a business trip (20+). It made such an impression that I always wanted to return. Since I don't live in Tulsa I did not get that chance until recently. The French Hen did not disappoint. I had made our reservation through Open Table and we were immediately seated upon... More

Kambrie, What an incredible perspective and review! Thank you so much for taking the time to write down these thoughts and compliments on your (delayed!) return dining experience. We, of course, love to hear that our Chef took excellent care of you and you were pleased with the service. It is very encouraging to hear from you that we hit... More

The French Hen, once the best restaurant in Tulsa and in decline the past 10 years was reviewed by Scott Cherry, our local food critic with glowing reviews recently. My wife and I decided to give it another go----not a good move! Our waiter was very new and it showed. Nice kid, but no experience! Did not know soup of... More

Sorry to say our meal wasn't up to the standards of much long ago....food arrived late & lukewarm...the interior is truly showing it's wear and tear...and the return air vents in the ceiling really caught my eye because they were filthy....made me wonder how the kitchen was maintained.

Debby, Thank you for dining at The French Hen both now and in years past. We appreciate your business and take each guest comment very seriously. We apparently missed the mark in terms of timely delivery of your meal, and definitely understand the importance of excellence when it comes to a fine dining experience. In regards to your speculation about... More
