Got two smothered burritos for $14. Was authentic, delicious and well worth the drive. The area is a kinda rough would probably go back again in the daytime but we went at night and it was ok. Salsa is great. Friendly staff

If you like authentic Mexican food and don't mind going a bit out of the normal restaurant scene, try El Rio Verde just north and west of I-244 and Utica in Tulsa. Outstanding enchiladas and an excellent wet burrito. Service is fast and friendly. This is real Mexican cooking, not the Tex-Mex served in the chain restaurants. Also easy on... More

While in Tulsa for a Pearl Jam concert, we visited the El Rio Verde on the recommendation of a visiting scholar. The restaurant is very easy to find - about 2 minutes off of I-244. It's easy to see why this restaurant is so popular. There were families there, couples, businessmen, and lots of youngsters. We went for a chicken... More

From the Mexican candies, to the real sugar Mexican coke, to the "wet burritos" with any type of meat filling imaginable this place is the real deal. Do not let the neighbor hod fool you and there is sometimes a wait for the few tables. In my opinion one of the best kept secrets in TUlsa, but not such a... More

I read the reviews I talked with co-workers and everyone was claiming how good this place was. I guess I was expecting knock your socks off food and all I got was a burrito I wouldn't mind eating again. The salsa yes it was free but it was bad. I had the wet burrito and while it was good and... More

The place was busy and full of mostly Mexicans so naturally you think you've found a find. The food is wholesome but really ho-hum. We had tacos and enchiladas with rice and beans. The tacos were very good but the rest was average at best. Cheese on top of enchiladas was toasted which I've never seen before and they also... More

My family loves this place! My 10 yr old love the enchilladas and my husband loves the tacos! Theres not a lot of room inside, but it is utterly delicious, and it doesnt taste like it was frozen or microwaved!

El Rio Verde is worth finding. It's true you can't judge a book by the cover and neither should one judge the food inside by the building. I've added a picture of the outside front just so you know what to expect. Inside El Rio is very clean, has friendly staff, and wonderful authentic food. I'll be back on every... More

Don't let the location or the building throw you. The parking lot tells the story. We had to sit at the counter but that was fine. The signature dish, the wet burrito, is a generous portion. The carne asada quesadilla is very good as well. The chips were pretty ordinary but the salsa, queso and guacamole were all appealing. The... More
