The Rock Cafe has been a Rt. 66 landmark for generations with good reason. The stone building is chocked full of history, including Betsy the original 1939 grill. Not to mention one of its owners inspired the character Sally from the Disney/Pixar film Cars. It burned in 2008, but was rebuilt. The food was good but the atmosphere and warm... More

We weren't particularly hungry, but we had to stop at the Rock Cafe as part of our Rt66 journey. We ordered milkshakes but they said didn't do them - must be the only caff in USA that doesn't!! We settled for a round of soft drinks and three of our group had pancakes - which were ok, nothing special. The... More

Dear LiciaW, We are so sorry you didn't enjoy our diner. We do spend a lot of time with customers and even those just stopping. Our motto is Food-Fun-History. There are times when a customer can be in the cafe when we are either pre-occupied with daily management and tasks. This could have been the situation or even worse, just... More

The food is delicious. The service is fantastic. And the atmosphere is incredible. My kiddos loved all of the Cars and other Pixar memorabilia, and the history of the place is just neat. We will stop in there every chance we get.

Even if you've had lunch prior to getting to Stroud on Route 66, make sure you stop for dessert! Although I've stopped before for lunch, this year we arrived a little after lunchtime. There was no way we were driving past though without stopping. The desserts are great too. I had the Peach Cobbler which was even better than the... More

Thanks for the great and detailed review. The cobbler is our favorite and Lane is a great kid. Many people fear the youth of today but I've found there are so many who are working hard and have a bright bright future. Our out of country staff for the summer are always amazing its a great program from them and... More

Even if you're not touring old Route 66 it's definitely worth pulling off the turnpike to visit the Rock Cafe in Stroud. The food is outstanding and you can't beat the service that Roberta, Lane and Nick provide. Betsy's (the original grill) been cooking since 1939 and is doing better than ever! Great nostalgia on the old highway and great... More

A stop at the Rock Cafe is a must. Lane is willing to give you the connection between the cafe, owner, and the town with the movie Cars. He and Roberta did a great job serving us. The bread pudding was fantastic and the peach cobbler was outstanding. It is a must see when traveling on Route 66.

Rock Cafe has a varied menu and everything is Delicious! Over the years we have watched the young local and enthusiastic wait staff, Lane, Jane, Lesleigh, Amber and Alexis, the cook, grow up. They make the dining experience fun. This is a must stop in between Tulsa and Oklahoma City.

Thanks for the review. I have such a hard time watching my staff grow and fly the coop but I have so many to be proud of from the past. I consider that part of the reward of owning the cafe to give the local youth the opportunity to learn how to work and be responsible. So many lessons, I... More
