Great Food, Great Waitress, Cold inside

I loved the grilled chicken salad I had. It was huge. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. Only bad thing was it was cold in the restaurant. The restaurant could look better on the outside.

I decided that instead of stopping in Tulsa or Joplin or . . . I'd stop somewhere off the beaten path. First I had the sweet tea - this tea should be in the Deep South because the sugar could make your spoon stand up. I don't like using plastic cups though-it's just yuck. I had the Jagerscnitzel (which has... More

The spaetzle was amazing, Jäger Schnitzle and Chicken Fried Steak were great. However they were :( terribly understaffed..... and the waitress/hostess seems to be crazier ten a sack of cats

had to stop here because of the reputation and we were not disappointed. We had a Reuben and country fried steak. Both were very good. The waitress was very friendly and the service was excellent. Will stop in again.

I ordered the Jagerschnitzel and my husband had the meatloaf. Both were really good. Service was fast. We got to keep the souvenir cups and we signed our name on the wall along with so many others. Deez Nuts also signed the wall. It was worth the stop.

Awesome place, especially if you are a fan of "Cars". Lots of fun memorabilia to check out. Was there mid afternoon and had a nice conversation with Dawn Welch (aka Sally Carrera) before we continued out trip on Rte 66. She is a wonderful person. And don't forget the Chicken Fried Steak. Its great also.

The Rock Cafe is a Route 66 Icon. The restaurant has been in business since before my parents were born! Even the grill, nicknamed "Betsy", survived a 2008 fire and is in her 75th year of service. For fans of the movie "Cars", the owner of "The Rock" was the inspiration for Sally Carrera, For us, this stop was planned... More

If it weren't for my sister's meal I would have rated it terrible. It took forever for our food to come out. My sister politely asked if our order had been put in and the blonde waitress (probably the manager) was very quick to point out that there many people sitting that hadn't been served yet. Ok, so the food... More
