We visited here with high hopes that it would be great. We watched the Diner's, Drive ins and Dives episode featured on the website. I ordered the bratwurst with potato salad, cabbage and sauerkraut. The cabbage was the best thing on the plate. The bratwurst was flavorless. My friend ordered the sauerbraten and it was not good. She said that... More

I was really disappointed to read this. First, I'd like to apologize -- this isn't the sort of experience we want guests to have, and I'm very sorry to know your visit wasn't what you were expecting. We serve fresh, authentic German cuisine, so I'm surprised to hear that your food wasn't as delicious as it should have been, and... More

Had a quintessential German meal - sauerbraten, cabbage, sauerkraut, and hot potato salad. Potato salad and cabbage were excellent. Kraut was average. Sauerbraten was terrible - meat dry with little true "sauer" taste. Not a restaurant on our return list.

I was so sorry to read that you weren't impressed by your visit. We're an authentic German restaurant with many years of service under our belt, so it's really disappointing to know that those flavors didn't pull through in your Sauerbraten. Though I understand it's difficult to overcome a first impression, I'd love the opportunity to welcome you back for... More

We went to Ingrids Kitchen today for the first time for sunday brunch and there was nothing german about the food except for the german potato salad!! They called "something" Chicken Cordon Blue and all that was, was cubed chicken in some kind of white sauce...I have NO idea what that had to do with Chicken Cordon Blue...not even the... More

I'm so disappointed you didn't enjoy your time with us. I'm sorry to hear that you weren't a fan of the Chicken Cordon Blue -- we like to put our own unique spin on some our dishes and I apologize if it wasn't to your liking. That said, I know we have something on our menu that you'd enjoy and... More

Visiting OKC for Thanksgiving we celebrated dinner at the buffet at Ingrid's. We were lucky to get a reservation. The food was fantastic and the service was even better. The atmosphere is down to earth and very comfortable, not fancy. Of course we took a pie and bake goods to go after the dinner. I will always go to Ingrid's... More

We ate at Ingrid's original location. They do what they do very well, with lots and lots of baked goods. They specialize in German cuisine, so be prepared for sauerkraut and red cabbage. It's not for me, but I ate some at it tasted very fresh--make with liebe (German for love). I would recommend this for anyone looking for something... More

Jim, thanks for this great recommendation. I really admire that even though German cuisine isn't your favorite, you could appreciate that it was fresh and made with liebe. I really hope to welcome you back again, if only for a cookie and a drink! Thanks again, and take care, Jason, Operations Manager More

A group of us had brunch at Ingrids today. The food was great and the service was friendly and accommodating. Our only complaint was that there was only a buffet option. Some of our party had special dietary needs and were unable to order a la carte items. However, the items on the buffet were great and full of variety.... More

This is an order at the counter German deli. You can't go wrong, but my husband really loved the Reuben sandwich. It had that great sweet and tangy sour kraut. They bake the breads for the sandwiches and you can buy a loaf togo. We also had German chocolate cake yummmy!!! The only reason I didn't give it a five... More

In fact, I would skip that part altogether! The cakes are Not house made but instead the pre-made, bulk order ones that typical chain restaurants have, all about sweet and no real flavor! That said, the sandwiches and sausages are pretty good and I enjoy their bread. I've been to Ingrid's off and on over some 25 years and have... More

While I'm happy to hear you're a fan of our sandwiches and sausages, I was surprised by what you had to say about our cakes. To claim that our desserts are "bulk order" cakes that "typical chain restaurants have" is simply untrue -- all of our desserts and pastries are made from scratch in our bakery daily. Most of our... I visited the restaurant with a business group for some lunch as friend recommended this place to us. Place was very clean and adequate seating. I had a snitzel sandwhich and enjoyed it very much. Serving it on a pretzel bun made it more appetising with the soft bread. Pork was very well seasoned and portion was good. Other colleagues... More
