If you are looking for the typical Tex-Mex do NOT go to Pepe's. No free chips and no orange cheese! This is far better than any of that stuff. Very fresh and lots of vegetarian options, including the delicious veggie loco burrito. Ask for black beans instead of pintos. Delicious! Wonderful daily specials and booze, too. Large, well-priced portions. more

Everyday there are three or so daily specials. If you are an infrequent visitor to Norman, ALWAYS order one of the specials (and don't start on the regular menu 'til you've tried them all). There is a regular schedule to the specials; if my memory serves me correctly, Mondays includes shrimp in an adobado sauce or molotes, Tuesdays is Tilapia... more

You can do a lot better for Mexican in Norman. Try Tarahumaras, Chelinos or just do Qdoba. more

"The Thing" at Pepe's is not on the menu, I believe, but certainly lives up to its name. Chicken, beef or veggie, however I think the latter the best. Straight up, it is a tasty burrito to behold. Order the Horchata as well ("a cold drink made from ground tiger nuts or almonds, milk and suger" - Larousse Dictionary) more

This place is wonderful. As a longtime Norman resident and foodie, my husband and I cannot stay away. The food is delicious, and for what you pay (6-8$) the value is great. The food is authentic Mexican, and everything tastes fresh, and handmade. Its truly one of the undiscovered gems of Norman. more
