Vegan Chili- Not an Oxymoron After All

The Earth doubles as deli and health food store. I had the Goddess sandwich (avocado, sprouts, tomato, cucumber on fresh bread) and a cup of the vegan chili. Both were fresh and flavorful. After several days of a beef and pork bender through northern Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma City we stumbled on this place after a visit to the University of Oklahoma. The only vegetables we'd seen in days were fried okra, cheesy corn, onion rings, french fries and mashed potatoes. Seeing this place was like looking at a PETA booth at the... More

The food is great - veggie burgers, veggie hotdogs, weekend brunch is outstanding. I would give 5 stars based on the food. However, their pricing is annoying. I ordered a brunch plate that included toast. The server asked me if I wanted any jelly, which I did. When the food arrived, I did not receive any butter, so I asked... More

Actually, not fully vegetarian, since there is tuna on the menu, but apart from that, I believe that everything is vegetarian -- and tasty. Apologies for what may be a generalization, but my experience is that it is much easier to find vegetarian restaurants on the two coasts and much more difficult to do so in the heartland. So extra... The earth has been around Norman for a good while and they do a very good job with veggie and natural foods. Currently enjoying free trade coffee with Stevita in it and deciding between the quiche breakfast and their veggie tacos. Their veggie chili is excellent. Service is friendly and spotty, but these are students, not professionals.

This little bistro specializes in healthy foods made from local produce. Items that are served are the same fresh high quality components sold at their local store location. Great soups and sandwiches, hummus and chis. Wonderful fresh pastries and french press coffee.

This is a bit of a walk from the OU campus (depending which part), but many students, etc., seem to go there for lunch. There are mostly vegetarian options, sandwiches, soups, etc. We had a tuna sandwich each, with a side of greens. One gets oil and vinegar with that or one can get a dressing for 75 cents. I... More

Really enjoyed the whole experience. Restaurant was Laid back and easy. Never felt rushed or hurried and the food was delicious and wholesome. I am picky about what I swallow, so it was nice to be able to find out the ingredient list from the chef. The staff was friendly, open, informative and helpful. I will definitely go back. Try... The earth is one of my favorite places in Norman. Located in a great spot on campus corner. Perfect for lunch and the specials that run all week are really good. The earth really cares about the food they serve. Not just in that the food taste great, but that it comes from trusted places. Most everything is organic and... More
