Menu filled with comfort foods!

Visiting our granddaughter at OU we walked down to the Blackbird Gastropub for lunch. Nice older building, great atmosphere. The menu had a variety of items, appetizers, salads, but what we noticed were the great comfort food dishes. Between the 5 of us this is what we ordered; Meatloaf sliders... read more

Man, when I was in college, I could not have afforded to hang out in a place like the Blackbird Gastropub. We went to a little dive called the Ram's Head. Beer, pizza, and burgers....not so much at the Blackbird Gastropub there in Norman. The décor is upscale young/yuppie - comfortable and chic. The bar is huge and stocked to... More

I've been to Blackbird Gastropub a few times and overall I have enjoyed the food there. However, the last visit was pretty disappointing. The roast beef sliders tasted dry and left over. The service was good. They also do not have a children's menu.

When we go back to Norman for a visit, I always want to go to the Blackbird Gastropub for their great food and friendly staff. The food is a step above the usual bar scene. It is consistently wonderful and it is just a great place to gather with friends or family.

The space is nice, the service disinterested and hard to find, and the menu is, especially for a gastropub in a university setting, simply odd. Everything, and I mean everything, has an unfortunate embellishment that, at least to us, made it hard to find anything appetizing. There are lots of gorgonzola sauces and truffle oil drizzles that are not only... More

We visited a couple bars (McConnell's and Logies) on ASP for drinks then went to Blackbird Gastropub for dinner. Great meal and atmosphere there. I would also recommend it. Pot roast sliders, pulled pork loaded fries, spinach salad, pot roast with truffle mashed potatoes entree and chocolate cake for desert. What's not to like! Only negative was server was a... More

The atmosphere is very nice. My group of three was seated at a coffee table with two small sofas. We hoped by the time we finished our first drink, there would be a table available. It was Wednesday night, after all. We ordered appetizers and hoped we would get a table after the long wait and so-so food, but while... More

I am not going to say much because I don't like writing negative things, but this venue is just not worth a second visit. Service bad (horrible) and food is over priced and mediocre.

My husband and I ate lunch here. The restaurant is modern and inviting. I didn't know Norman had something like this. I was surprised! The food was interesting and different! Another very nice surprise! The service was good. The bar looked inviting. There is a space upstairs to sit and have a drink! I highly recommend trying The Blackbird.

Stopped in on a Saturday night to enjoy the lively, upscale-ish atmosphere, great food and great drinks. Couches and leather arm chairs a nice touch. Everything across the board was well prepared and presented with a twist from the duck breast with fig reduction to the meatloaf with extra spicy sauce. Veggies were crisp tender delicious from carrots to asparagus.... More
