Big Meal in a tiny town

The food was amazing! We all had either a burger or a fried chicken sandwich. They were really good, and the homemade bread bun put it over the top. Service was great. Family friendly with a casual atmosphere.

We ate here without reading reviews, which I rarely do, but the food was pretty good, not the best I've ever ate but good! The salad was really good, I ordered chicken fried steak, it is very thin and deep fried so it's tough. My husband ordered grilled chicken and it was really good! The mashed potatoes are green but... When we went here they were having a music festival down the street and it was a little busy but our waiter was right there when we needed him, we ordered a onion blossom and fried pickles appetizers and the onion was great, pickles were a little salty even for a pickle, then I ordered a grilled chicken salad which... My husband and I ate at the Plantation Inn twice, and were happy with both meals. We each had steaks for our first meal, and burgers for our second. The service was great, and even though the restaurant was packed on Saturday we didn't have a very long wait. We were not disappointed with our meals and would recommend this... More

It's a small little town, but very neat. However, we visited during the week and everything was closed except this resturant. There were a few other people there, but not many. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. My husband had the bacon cheeseburger with fries. Said it was the best burger and the best fries he has had... More

We both had the chicken fried steak which was heavily salted. Also the mashed potatoes. We were ignored by the server who had our table. It was hard to watch the other servers working hard as this one just wandered around doing nothing. Thankfully, one of the hard workers took pity on us and added us to their workload.

I waited over a month to write this review because I didn't want to be hasty and write something I'd regret later. Unfortunately, I still feel the same. We took out-of-state friends there for dinner. The men ordered rib eyes, which were good enough. We ladies ordered the country fried steak, and it was awful. The mashed potatoes were GREEN!... More

We ordered the beef tips and chicken fried steak on the recommendations of a family member who said these items were always great. Unfortunately even she was disappointed. The au jus' for the beef tips was very watery and the beef under cooked (I asked for medium rare and received rare) the sides were salty (green beans and mashed potatoes)... More

My first clear memory of The Old Plantation dates back to '72-'73 when I was a student, FAOAC class 1-73. I drove by there several times and had no intention of eating there. But a later two week course brought be there and I have tried to come back ever since. The new management has done a great deal of... More

The food was well prepared and the service was attentive. Delicious salmon and we enjoyed our onion blossom appetizer. The salad was fresh. The antique building and historic pictures were fun to look at.
