We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor while on a road trip. The slight detour through the older part of town was interesting. The restaurant was in a neat old building. The employees were welcoming and friendly. The food was great. There is a good selection of sandwiches and wraps, freshly prepared to order. If you are looking for a... More

The Bistro has a great atmosphere and is located in a very cool old antique shop. The employees are wonderful and are all very nice and attentive. I had the french dive sandwich and a salad, it was the best french dip that I've had in McAlester. It is a great experience, you should go if you are in or... More

This place is closed on Monday. I like this yummy place for lunch - wraps, salads, sandwiches, friendly service and a good value.

I had turkey Reubens and it was very good. They close at 300...we arrived at 2:00. We were seated and not rushed. We enjoyed the Historic District atmosphere. Worth getting off freeway for. We are traveling back to Texas.....we will go again next time we are up this way.

This little gem is in an old building in what is called 'old town' (?) not near anything really except junk/antique stores. And I overheard ladies at a near table discuss that is where they were headed. But the place was packed at lunch. We got there at 12:30 and had a few minutes wait. Every plate we saw coming... More

We found this place by recommendation of some locals we were working with- and what a great find!! My coworker and I ended up eating here multiple times the 2 weeks we were in McAlester for work. The sandwhiches were all delicious, as was the Taco Soup and Spinach Bisque.

The left dining room is more cozy then the other one. I ate in the cozy one. My server was wonderful, very attentive and efficient. I had the soup of the day, Cream of Spinach Bisque and the Pastrami Panini. It was all delicious. I saw one of the salads come out and it was huge. The customer was actually... More

Whistle Stop is mostly a sandwich shop in the heart of old downtown. It is surrounded by antique shops. We went for lunch, and had the daily specials. The "hot" Italian sandwich was OK, but not spicy as advertised. The chicken and dumplings were OK, but nothing special. The salad was quite good.

Enjoyed our lunch at the Whistle Stop. Cannot get this cute, quaintness at home. And tasty to boot. Our sandwiches were yummy and fresh. My kids appreciated their go tos of Mac n cheese/hot dog. Plus had cold beers and frosty mugs. Service was good too.

Quaint place with good food. Locals seem to love he place. At lunchtime it is a little loud, but tolerable.
