Taste of the Unique on Route 69

We were looking for a late lunch at a hometown restaurant. Wow, this was an interesting place. The memorabilia was everywhere. The food was tasty and less expensive before 4. You got used to the bite in the peanuts after a couple. We Northerns loved it.

Where do I begin? Waitress brought drinks and ketchup to the table. Put the ketchup between her legs to open the bottle. My steak was way undercooked and 50% fat. Ordered ranch style beens. They were out of a can. My wifes seemed veggies were frozen. Worst meal we have had in the 20 years we have been together. This... More

I wanted a T-bone and a beer. You would think a steakhouse could handle that. Since I was dining alone I ate at the bar. The barstools are about a foot too short so I felt like a little kid at the bar. Ordered the t-bone, baked potato, and salad. Was told they were out of all 3. Hmm. How... More

Quaint little country place with a bar decorated to be country and perhaps slightly rough around the edges. We sat in a booth (broken down padded benches) and ordered soft drinks. They are served in large mason jars. Before the waitress returned to take our order I heard another waitress taking an order at a nearby table. She told the... More

You might be in beef country, but you aren't in GOOD steak country here. For $32 with a coke to drink, one would expect to get a damn good steak and sides. The salad was small and very average. The Ribeye, the biggest baddest 1+" cut, wasn't a 1" ribeye. It certainly wasn't a $32 steak. No seasoning. No salt,... More

Brangus Feed Lot, is a combination bar/restaurant. We arrived shortly before the dinner rush, so getting a booth was easy. Peanuts were in a trough by the door as you enter, so scoop them out, crack the shells and toss on the floor. Our waitress that night was a bit unsure of herself, and the menu offerings. We settled on the... More

We came here because we were staying nearby and they served wine and beer, not an easy thing to find in the area. It wasn't a great meal. We had a server who was working her first night so naturally she had some problems. Totally messed up on what wine they had but eventually that was straightened out. She also... More

Visited Brangus around 3 pm on a Saturday. Other than the few individuals drinking on the patio, we were one of two groups in the restaurant. We missed the trough of peanuts as we walked in which are self service so if you want the peanut experience, be sure to scoop a cup as you enter. The decor is eclectic... More

On our way home from Dallas to St. Louis, we decided to stop at the Feed Lot. We ordered the rib plate not realizing that we were also getting a chicken breast and a piece of sirloin! The meals we ordered also came with an appetizer, salad and a dessert! Needless to say it was a lot of GREAT food.... More
