Whether you're in the mood for a burger and fries or pancakes and bacon, Marilyn's is a cozy little diner that is definitely affordable for most budgets. They have great service and a wonderful "at home" atmosphere. The only con is the availability of seating...but it is worth a little wait for a table.

It's a small spot near a motel and we driove right by, but glad we turned around to find it. Nice, clean, cheerful spot. Good "home" cooking. One had the chicken fried chicken, another a burger and fries and all were great. Much better than another fast food on the roead meal. Will surely stop again. Friendly service too! Locals... More

This place is small and unassuming and positively delightful. It is very quaintly decorated with antique tins and other country sundries. Cool light fixtures. The waitress was always very pleasant (she constantly checked on us) and seemed to many patrons by name. There were always locals in the place which I love. I always ate the breakfast food when I went... More

Can get extremely busy...seems to be very popular. Only one waitress working dinner on the Wednesday evening in January that we dined there. They weren't full yet as we were a bit early for dinner, so I imagine the speed of service would go down as the place filled up. Food was alright...homecooked type meals with a side of "greens"... The atmosphere is warm and simple. My dinner was chicken fried chicken, with potato, salad, hot vegetable and toast; and all was very good. Very reasonably priced. Service was warm and good. Staff is friendly. It was recommended by local hotel staff. I will return.

Just finished lunch here and enjoyed our hot vegetable soup and grilled chicken sandwich. But my GPS didn't take us quite far enough headed south. Look for this cozy place with around 14 tables adjacent to the Best Western Inn at McAlister. Our total bill with two large iced teas was only $11.99--good food and good value (and we are... More

My husband drive through on our way to Arkansas. Decided to try a local restaurant instead of a chain for lunch. This is a small place and it is definitely laid out like a diner. They were short on wait staff this day and the woman that was running the show did an excellent job. The food here is good.... More

We enjoyed both a dinner and a lunch at this little diner. The food was great with a definite home-style feel to it. The waitress and other staff seemed to have a great time doing their job which made the visit pleasurable.

The people are so friendly and it's like the old "Mom&Pop's" restaurant-service is always fast and with a smile! Somthing I've found is rare these days.

We were traveling to Texas and stopped for breakfast. This place was fantastic. I saw women cooking that looked much like someones own mother and grandmother. The food was great, the service was great. The portions were nice size portions, and the price is very affordable. We enjoyed a nice home cooked breakfast. I wish this place was closer to... More
