Underwhelmed. Did not meet the hype

This is a restaurant you are told you "have to go to." So we did. We got greasy spaghetti sauce, bland, doughy ravioli, and ordinary lasagna. No one was impressed. The soda bread starter was nice. Lunch portions on the small side. Salad was ok, but they nickle and dime you for toppings... read more

Look harder for real italian food. Maybe this was once a nice family diner. Our familly's recent visit to celebrate a birthday was lackluster and we drive 150 miles from Dallas to do so. Wait staff, cashier not customer friendly at all. Food, sorry to say not tasty yet expensive. Do not recommend this place and that is too bad... More

Upon entering Pete's Place, you're greeted by the host staff. If a table is available for you and your party, they will seat you. It was just the two of us, and we were seated in a private room. They have lots of private rooms, so that you can dine undisturbed by anyone that might be walking down the halls... More

Interesting place. Looks like a large house/place, but dining is in small rooms, some with only two or three tables. Our last visit we had our own room with one table, and we could dim the lights! Food is always good, but being family style Italian, always way more than we can eat. We ask for not so much but... More

Had a family dinner for my daughters second birthday. Had reservation and was seated right away. We were seated in our own dinner room with a closed off door. We all enjoyed that and how it allowed us more privacy and cushion for others from my daughter's excitement. The food was great and plentiful. Everyone in my party left pleased... More

To be fair, I need to point out that I grew up eating at Pete's in the 60's and 70's before it became a microbrewery/souvenir shop. The food is still pretty good, but it is certainly not a good value. The "Choc" beer is really nothing like the Choc that is still made locally and can still be bought illicitly... More

I've come here since I was a young child. It never disappoints. We drove 60 miles each way and I'll do it again. Family style, with refills, on spaghetti that is not sweet, salad that isn't too heavy, homemade ravioli all are delicious!! I always order lamb fries (which I crave), wish for a steak but cannot bring myself to... More

Appears to be a beautiful place from the outside. There was a lot of hype from friends to come here. We were seated in a private room. Not on clausterophobic, but it made me feel like one! Interesting music... some kind of "pop" music, definitely reduced any ambience. Okay? Lets give the food a try. Salad? $2 per person. Okay,... More

Maybe it was just us, but my husband and I aren't impressed with this place. The pre-dinner salad was $2 extra and was only iceberg lettuce drenched in vinegar dressing of some sort, we both gagged. Husband got the chicken parmesan and I got chicken Alfredo. Both were bland and my $10 lunch was about half the size of olive... More

Make sure you understand what you're getting into regarding the menu options... Four of us went in and didn't completely understand what we had ordered. If you order any entree you will also get spaghetti, meatballs, salad etc. served family style. That means a LOT of food... You can also skip the entree all together, since you get all of... More
