Friendly staff and really good food

We had breakfast here before heading out of town. So did a lot of local people, this is the place to eat! Large omelet with golden hash browns, bottomless cups of coffee. The decorating is very homey with clever signs posted around. I didn't notice other choices so was glad this place was so good.

We spilt the daily special; prime rib sandwich on a Kaiser role with home fried and desert. Prefection. You'll love the good and the decorations: folk wisdom based on solid values. Loved it all.

If you want great home cooked food, this is the place to go! The food is really good and the family atmosphere inside is something you cannot get everywhere.

Driving from Dallas to Aspen, we stopped in Boise City for dinner. What a treat! The owner obviously goes to a lot of trouble to make sure the food is tasty. It's a real local hot spot, so you know it's good. We had the special: chicken fry with creamed corn and mashed potatoes (not instant!) with jalapeño gravy. YUM!... More

After a wonderful motorcycle ride from Denver south the Raton, east through Clayton to Texline and north to Boise City last Thursday, we were ready for a dinner, some desert and some rest. We stopped at the Townsman Motel, a 60's styled motor court near the DQ. We went up the street to the Rockin' A Cafe for their dinner... More

It's hard to give 5 star reviews on small town establishments; the Rockin' A Café is everything you would expect in a small town restaurant. The restaurant is clean and quaint, and the prices are reasonable. Very good flavor in the food, and it is prepared in a reasonable amount of time. The one knock is that it can be... More

Passed through on a road trip and opted for this local cafe instead of the couple of chain restaurants around. Happy we did! I got sausage, eggs with cheese, a pancake, and hash browns. None of the food blew me away but don't get me wrong it was very good. Reminded me of a home cooked meal by my mom.... More

You may come in as a stranger on a road trip or a trusted local, regardless you'll leave a a a friend of this place. Very cordial staff and a good breakfast menu. We ate early on a Sunday morning and the whole family had smiles. This is traditional country cooking at a pretty reasonable price - portion sizes are... More

Large crowd at the Rockin A Café on a Monday night when I arrived in town, on the way to hike to the Oklahoma state high point, Black Mesa, which is only 30 miles away. The large crowd could be explained by the fact that on a Monday night, they are virtually the only place open in town (Angel Diner... More

Cute little down home restaurant in the heart of the dust bowl. I have to say, I had the weirdest pancake I've ever tasted and it wasn't good. I couldn't tell if it was made with animal fat or if it just wasn't cooked inside but it was nasty. I had scrambled eggs and it was obviously an egg dropped... More
