Murphy's is a local tradition. The place is an old diner, it still has a bar with barstools. It's not fancy but it is delish. The steaks will melt in your mouth, hot hamburger is picked high. Where else can you and get a slice of white bread and butter while you wait!

The food is delish and one can't eat here without trying the garlic dressing and the hot hamburger with gravy over all. Our waitress was not very attentive (at all) and she spent most of the time eating. I have worked in many restaurants and find this unacceptable. It's tacky to let your customers see you feeding your face while... More

Murphy's is best known for their gravy overall hot hamburger and their garlic dressing. If you go here, both are a must. We've had many other items off the menu as well, and all are great as well. Make sure you finish the meal with a slice of pie!

I grew up in Bartlesville in the 50s. Murphy's was our family's favorite meal out - always hamburgers. I've lived in New England for over 50 years and still miss Murphy burgers. Have one for me!

The best hot hamburger in the world! The garlic dressing is 2nd to none! I've been eating at Murphy's for over forty years!

The food quality seems to have deteriorated over the past few years, and the grease smell clings to your clothing after you've left the restaurant. Used to be great. . . . now not so much.

It was recommended to me by Sheila at the Hilton Garden Inn down the block. I wanted a small place with some local flair. It was perfect for what I was looking for. I had the "world famous hot hamburger" with cheese. It is a burger served over toast, covered with fries and smothered in gravy. Delish! Try it if... More

There are other places that have tried to duplicate this meal, but no one is better than the ore who invented it, Murphy's. The hot hamburger is a hamburger patty sitting on a slice of toast that is covered with the best French fries in America and then covered with the best brown gravy in the world. If you have... More

The hot hamburger is often copied but nothing beats the original. I have heard people say they were not impressed. However, for me this is a wonderful experience. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming and it makes feel good inside to know it is still there. Come and try a piece of history.
