Great food, but beyond a "reasonable" expensive!

We had a breakfast here. The steel cut oatmeal is out of this world. "Really" expensive though. When all you received was two oatmeals and a cofffe, and the bill was $17, that's a bit absurd. Lovely, trendy atmosphere.

So my husband and I came here for breakfast one weekday morning when he had the day off. We arrived at 8:00am. We were the only ones here so it was a quiet experience... the woman who runs the front was very pleasant and took care of us nicely but wasn't so close that we were uncomfortable. I was wanting... Oak Grove has had a couple of different names and different configurations since it was renovated from a nondescript shoe repair shop into a very trendy downtown destination. Since 2014 it has been the Oak Grove Eatery maybe/probably named after the grove of Oak trees at the nearby College of Wooster. We ate there several times when it was the... More

Enjoyed Chef Eric's Thursday night three-course vegan menu for the third time last night. Each time it's been something different--both surprising (as in how did he think of that?!?!) and delicious. Oh, and filling, too! And we're not even vegans. We enjoy the non-vegan menu as well, too and delight and the changes OGE makes with each season. It's a... More

The menu has a good cross section of options from fish to beef, I had the pork and it was very nicely done.

Although I have been to The Oak Grove Eatery several times, I have waited to write a review until now. No matter if we have visited he restaurant with two or fourteen, we have more than enjoyed all the staff, as well as the atmosphere. The restaurant is warm and inviting. We have had several occasions when the chef came... More

We showed up without reservations on Mother's Day but were able to get a tiny table for two. The cornbread and scones were acceptable ~ nothing spectacular. We both had the special ~ Lobster with penne and "fresh" peas in a very good Alfredo sauce. The lobster was delicious. The bread crumbs were great, but the chef was beyond stingy... More

nice atmosphere. not cheap, at all, for dinner. some local meats. chef is clearly good. my husband said it was the best pork shoulder he ever ate. but overall, needs more attention to small details (ex: the limes in the pricey martinis were brown on the edges and all dried up. yuck ! the espresso was served ice cold. sob.)... We made a reservation for a group of 12. The staff was terrific - easy and flexible as our numbers shrunk and grew. They let us have time to gather and have drinks at the bar as we waited for the last of our guests to arrive. The fresh and mostly local food was imaginative but also authentic. And at... More

I went here just one day ago and I did not have a great experience. First of all it was very crowded. While I was eating I saw them place 2 different couples at the same table! That both had different reservations! I got a steak about the size of a dog biscuit on top of burnt vegatibles for 32... More
